  1. I think the event was great, everything went smoothly from an organisation side, goodie bag is not important in my mind as i am there to ride not get a free everything, good route, water points good, happy all round.....
  2. You are all so one sided, surely its Jan Van Riebeeck's fault????
  3. How are you inflating the tyres? If you are using CO2 bombs that could be the issue, if you dont have a compressor at your disposal(like most of us) bomb the tyres and let it seal as best possible, then release some air and pump with normal pump, repeat a few times to minimize the amount of CO2 in the tyre. Im not a pro so it is just a suggestion that sorted mine out after alot of failed efforts.
  4. Could also be all the tension from the last two days on the hub ha ha
  5. Dipslick, im no doctor but that could be spastic/twisted colon, which is a big problem maybe get a doc's opinion.
  6. Try something called EL wire, best solution to your problem, there is a place in CPT that will mail all over the country. I do it for critical mass and this has been the best result/option by far.
  7. Have had both, without a question towbar
  8. Thanks, will give that all a try!
  9. Dear All Technical equipped Hubbers I have a Anthem X1 Carbon which has xt crank, when i ride there is a clicking when pedaling, it is only under load and creeks when under high load. I have stripped the crack, cleaned it and re-lubed it, and it has made no difference. Does anyone else have this issue and if so have you been able to fix it or can i have some suggestions please Thanks!
  10. I say do it, saw many people in the past years doing single speeds etc
  11. How are they going to do registration, can we register the day before to avoid those long waits on the am of the ride?
  12. Also want to know what the route profiles are??
  13. HI Jan Firstly i just want to state i am no pro but you must try and do some longer races, even if you battle through them. I dont know of a stage race that has a stage less than 60km unless it is a prologue. If you are time strapped during the week, i would suggest spinning with very hi intensity for 3/4 days a week and do longer rides on the bike on the weekend. As said before the best would be to enter into races and just push on weekends to get the distance under your belt, saddle time means alot in stage races and along with that you will build fitness. Riding 8km in the am has its benefits but you would benefit alot more from a high intensity spinning session than an 8km ride, that been said there is nothing to replace an actual ride on the bike so make sure if you do the 8km every day, do it with intervals and as hi intensity as possible. just my 2 cents
  14. As an avid MTB'er and business man I am looking at setting up two development teams with entries to 2015 Sani2c. I want to select 4 previously disadvantaged riders from the Soweto/Katlehong area, preferably guys that are looking at making riding a career or are top of their cycling clubs etc if they have one. The idea is simple, · Identify four individuals that suit the criteria · Organize sponsored bikes and gear · Setup a training program etc which will be either with myself or a professional · Pay for their entry into Sani2c(entries secured already) · Sponsor them getting down to Underberg and back from Scotties · Continue to develop them if it works to do Dusi2c etc etc With the above on the table I was wondering if anyone could lend any assistance in this regard, firstly to assist in identifying the individuals or pointing me in the direction of the person that could assist. Maybe to assist in obtaining the gear sponsorship and training programs/professionals. Any comments and suggestions would be great
