  1. I’m not taking about high end mountains bikes. I’m just talking about general bikes, like commuter, leisure, supermarket chain store bikes etc. The thread is, are 26er dead?. So the answer is no. But with regards to professional and serious cyclist then I would say yes, but then again there are still many who would discuss agree. Also it depends on what type of riding you do, dirt jumping is different to cross country. You would use a different type of bike and wheel size generally.
  2. 26er are still alive and probably makes up most of the sales in countries like China, India, we’ll basically Asia and other African countries. We are sold the idea of 29er is new, modern, better by clever marketing. Which is true in some areas and not in others. In my opinion a 5ft person is better suited to a 26er then a 7ft person, where as a 29er better for a taller person then a shorter person. Then you have to look at the discipline, rider style and just personal preference. I’ve just built up a 1994 Trek singlestrack to go have fun with on my local trails. The hardest thing to find is good quality 26er tyre now a days. But that being said most suppliers are battling to get stock of any size tyre at the moment.
  3. Have a look at the Rook Scout. It is in your price range. https://rookcycles.com/collections/rook-scout
  4. Hi Has anyone fitted the KCNC cassette to a Hope XD driver? I know the e13 needs a special spacer for the Hope XD driver, wondering if the KCNC does to? Im considering putting one on my gravel bike. I want to run a 46t up front and KCNC on the rear.
  5. Awesome, Shaun built me a fork for my Ragley a couple years back. He has just made me a fork my track bike. His work is brilliant!
  6. Hi So this is my SSCX/ Tracklocross bike It’s an All city Big Block the frame was designed to be an urban track bike that clears 32c tyres. The idea was to have a bike that be used for commuting but also handle some walk paths and gravel roads. My mate Sean thought that fitting 35c Schwalbe g-one would be a good time and they just fit with enough clearance that there is no rubbing taking place. Parts used for the build - Wheels are Mavic open pro’s which I converted to tubeless and hubs are flip flop goldtec hubs with 15t track sprocket and 17t white industries freewheel. - Paul MTB crank with a 39t chainring - Paul canti levers and Shimano long reach calipers - Thomson stem and seatpost - csixx carbon bars - classic flite ti saddle - natch feed bag This bike is some much fun to ride and quite comfortable on the gravel.
  7. I was lucky to find a Ritchey ascent breakaway. I must say one of the best bikes I’ve ever owned!
  8. Hi Stretched, need a rigid fork for a touring bike project. Thanks for the offer.
  9. Hi all, Hope someone is able to help. Looking for a 26er 1-1/8” fork with a 230mm steerer. Please let me know if you have one laying around, need it for a retro MTB project. Thank you in advance.

  12. I know this is a very silly question.... But going to ask it anyway. Any one keen on selling there large Cotic Solaris ?
  13. Thanks Monark, appreciate the kind words.
  14. Thanks. Yeah you need to, don't know why you haven't yet?!.
  15. So I had a custom fork made for my Ragley TD-1 by Shaun Weber from Storm cycles in cape town. Shaun used True Temper tubing and paragon DT Swiss thru axle drop outs. I also got a new front wheel built up with a Paul thru axle hub by the guys at Sprocket and Jack. I still need to save up for some Thomson bars to finish it off bike once and for all.... (hopefully)....
