This being my fifth start and having had four good weather rides I am just expecting the worst.

Why did you have to put this out in the universe? Was hoping for good weather again. Last year we missed the snow by a week.

I thought it would be cool to ride with you. Not anymore. That would kill me.

Lexx, popular wisdom reckons that if you bitten by those snakes you see (Black Mamba) just find a nice tree, sit down and make peace with the world because it wont be long. Considering I have asked you to show me the routes down there in December a bit nervous now.

Good evening I have been doing a few night rides and am battling to see with only the handlebar mounted light especially on the single track. Is there a helmet available in South Africa that has an integrated headlamp mount? Not the big cycle lights a normal smaller headlight or alternatively how do you fit a headlamp properly.?

That's exactly what he said, it wasn't a hard but trying to high five a drum is what did it. When he got up he said he heard something crack and was inspecting the bike without realizing it was his band that cracked. Priorities are right, it's all about the bike.

My partner had to bail after breaking his hand after hitting a drum just before the cat bridge. No the drum was not in the way he went off track to hit it. As a team we have DNF but individually I have a time but obviously no placing. This being my first it was an incredible experience and one I hope to repeat.

I have Bontranger Duster rims that I am trying to convert to tubeless but am battling here despite following the instructions on the box. I cannot get the rim tape to stick on the existing tape inside the rim that I assume is to stop the spoke holes from chaffing the tube. The question is, am I supposed to remove the existing tape before fitting the rim tape? Please bear with me here as I thought the best thing to do was to try this myself before just dumping at the LBS to convert.

Good afternoon all. Am brand new at this forum and still relatively new in cycling and not veven sure if thsi is the correct forum. I have a question that may seem stupid to some but please bare with me. When using a helmet mounted light where do you store the battery? I found out that putting it in a back pocket of a shirt is no gaurantee of anything as I went over the handlebars this weekend and landed on my back. Having a battery there could have done more damage than the current damage done to my pride.

No complaints from me just compliments, well organized no bottlenecks to talk of even with starting in a later group. Thank you.
