  1. most (if not all) of the stops will have powerade, coke & water. different stops will have different food / fruit treats.
  2. Another one-post wonder that has never got a hard-day of riding.... One could only ponder what OP rides.... A pony perhaps?
  3. and now the OP has just introduced himself to all the hubbers (in the form of Stava account)...
  4. Their parents & their thought of getting free things from public at all time... On this note, do thank the marshals (at least 2 of them in vehicle & in various spots) who were keeping an eye on "the locals". Edit: spelling
  5. I also have to commend on today's race, there are more visible marshals on the ground and it'd made the event much safer and enjoyable. Also I would like to thank the marshal who assisted me with my puncture (and also other marshals who'd also assist riders with similar situations) Thank you Gerald & Germiston-wheelers for possibly the best organized race-event of the year (to-date)
  6. People from that province never failed to amaze the rest of the populations....
  7. Go ride there if you've a good life insurance + hospital cover + bike insurance and willing to test the payout system of the insurance-company....
  8. Hope you can get an race-entry for the forthcoming year. There are other Gran-Fondo race that are even harder to gain an entry (Maratona is another one which has an entry-cap of 8000 people)
  9. Correction on my part, it's any hubbers who has completed this ride in the past.
  10. It's easier to figure out "what women wants" than the seeding index calculations....
  11. Question of the day: Has any Hubber attempted this 160km ride in the past? if so, would it be kind enough to share hints & logistics plans for this event ?
  12. For most part of the race I would regards as safe, however I did almost get run-over by a very aggressive "renovation specialist" in his Hyundai bakkie on the main climb after silversand casino... The really good touch was one of the water-point which has jelly-tots and snicker-bars. The only regret for this race is that I should had eat them on the spot (so that the last 5km won't hurt) Overall, it's a good day of riding.
  13. IMO it's very doable for a sub-4 and even a little better (provide the weather elements plays into one's hand)
  14. Speaking of the pre-race magazine, not everyone has received their hard-copies from the mail (myself included, thanks to the ****-office for yet another mail-theft)
