  1. Holy, that must be the funniest picture I have ever seen about you. This is evidence of what people see when the have had one to many beer...
  2. Thought we made a vow to never talk about that weekend again
  3. What a great event!!!! I enjoyed it in the "comfort" of the star shape tent and "poewe", I suffered a knee injury and thus couldn't ride but next year I'll def "race" along!!! Summit, what a great ride RESPECT bro, I hope that the "prize money" was enough to buy you a new set of legs maybe it will be a good idea to take out insurance next year then you can double the prize money Holy sorry I missed the beer session, I kinda got lazy at the tent and since you guys were like next to the racing line and all the riders being able to ride kinda made me miss the scene to much... Veloura great to have met you, you really did a great job of "climatising" after all the delays etc. the first time you came back to the tent and was gasping for air I thought to myself , this oke is mad... Big up bro really enjoyed you and your wives company!!! O and by the way I think she also deserves major cause she was in and out the whole time supporting and motivating!!!
  4. Jip I think he cant wait either!!! Thanks for those that already contributed, will post some lekker shots of everything whne its completed!!!! BUMP???
  5. Pm's sent, thanks guys this laitie will really jump through the roof if we can organise him something since he was in the dirt after his bmx broke...

  7. Look at his bike, this kid doesn't have money for that kind of stuff, feel free to check out this post: https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=65101&KW=
  8. Hi, I work at a bmx/jump track in Pretoria. This is actually a life center for kids in the area where they can come an ?play? in a safe environment that keeps them out of the streets. One of the kids ?jumping? there (Kealin) has a old run down bmx, he is 13years old and I believe has a future in jumping/freestyle as he has definitely got the racing legs; and fearlessness for jumping... Yesterday his bmx broke in two and we are searching for sponsorships to raise money to buy this kid a proper bike. If somebody is interested in contributing to this cause feel free to contact me. Attached is a few pics of him in action and also destroyed with his machine in two pieces. Also check out our Facebook group HERE. 9. 2010 29er Single Speed specific Carbon Frameset.... Eish...
  10. Ok, how did it perform, would you recommend it or not?
  11. Was thinking about something this morning, If you run a cassette 12-36 at the back and a front blade 36t Will work to drop a shifter and front derailler to save weight and still be able to ride most terrain?? Without chain slipping off on rough terrain??
  12. Depending on numbers in JHB' date=' I can chat to Ruan to see whether he would be keen on doing a workshop up there [/quote'] Sounds like a good idea, will put my mind to it this week and see if we can organize something, I'm starting to help out at a local skate park to develop the interest in the sport etc (this is in PTA though) but if interest is enough then we will surely organize something.
  13. Well Burry didn't have a problem riding a spez to his victory so... I say make a poll so people can vote. My choice def the Stumpjumper comp, it comes with a fox fork and fox shock so good value there, If you can go to Groenkloof nature reserve on Saturday, there is going to 13 test bikes from Spez and you can try them out for yourself on some lekker offroad terrain!!!
  14. My verdict Stumpie for sure.... Ive ridden the stumpie and can tell that the FSR system works great especially climbing and then obviously the descents, the link eliminates chain bobbing and serves for a smoother ride. The stumpie has the Fox Triad shock which has the 3 options, 1) lock out 2) Open 3) ProPedal pedal whereas the Trek has the Fox Float RP2 w/ Pro Pedal, rebound. Components wise they match up main difference is Spez has sram and trek Shimano- I prefer x9 over xt though. From reviews it seems as if the tires on the trek is worth nothing also the grips but can't talk from experience. For the Abp pivot check this out http://trekmountain.typepad.com/king/2007/08/abp-explained.html For FSR pivot this http://cdn.specialized.com/bc/microsite/suspension/suspension.html UNIruanCYCLE2009-09-15 15:27:15
  15. Sheeeeeeeezzz, glad he is ok!!!! I also fell with my MTB going down a rocky single track, hitting a sharp rock and punctured my Front Wheel and flew off, my head hit a rock and BUSTED my helmet...no helmet, no ride, no head...
  16. From road to MTB??????????
  17. Reminds me of a good old story. My friend lives in Howick just past the karkloof, he once tailed a truck as he climbed onto road, the truck driver didn't see him so made nothing of it. The truck nearly towed him 4km and reaching speeds 50km/h+, so when the truck hit a hill, my friend was in the top gear and slipped streamed past the truck on the hill, can you imagine the truck drivers face when past on a hill by a MTB.
  18. My hands were sweating after this vid... http://www.break.com/usercontent/2009/2/Downhill-Mountainbike-crash-compilation-669453.html
  19. Eish man, sorry to hear, that section after the bridge is very rocky and fast, I had a big bail once there and with a "crack" like that it would have been messy!!! Hope you can warranty it???
  20. Ok, I decided to post a new thread on this where you can post a time and date when you go ride Groekloof nature reserve. Reason being, I go there quite often and see a lot of people and they might as well be hubbers, so when you wana go ride Groenkloof like a sat/sun/anyday post it here, then if the others are keen to join we can meet up and ride together!!! And besides, you were going to ride anyway so... its always more fun dong stuff together??? So I'll start. Date : Sat 25April Time : 7h start to ride Will prob be there around 8:30, not my fault I only get in bed now Will be riding with a few friends, two of us on our Specialized SingleSpeeds, so if you spot us, say Howzit... Date : Mon 27April (Freedom Day) Me and my friends are gona have a braai/brunch afterwards Time : 8h start to ride UNIruanCYCLE2009-04-24 16:20:55
