  1. Give me a shout if you need some expansionary capital or some Private Equity advice.
  2. This is the prequel to how cats die.
  3. Tell that to the 1000's of bankers that arrived at work to find their access cards not working anymore. Also, keep in mind that the economy moves in cycles. It has done so for 100's of years and will do so for countless more. Also remember next time you require funding or receive your pay cheque into your bank account who is responsible for making it possible.
  4. Don't think it is about fair and unfair. I would hesitate to say that the majority of those teachers and nurses do that work because they were either not smart enough or driven and motivated enough to become doctors or engineers or lawyers. And those that are smart enough and driven enough to better themselves, but have chosen to be teachers or nurses have done so on their on volition. Don't feel sorry for them.
  5. I know a couple of engineers whose income will make your eyeballs water. On the flipside I know some CA's that earn quite a low salary. Also, keep in mind that you can't blindly refer to someone as a CA, implying that they are accountants. The implication of someone being a CA is just that they are someone that is highly financially literate, not necessarily someone that practices accounting. Many CA's move on from accounting and are much more active in creating businesses. As an indication, look at the composition of directors on the JSE. The most representative profession there is CA's, indicating that these guys create employment for millions. Compare that to an engineer somewhere that doesn't create any jobs, but perhaps will save some lives by doing something correctly. You can't blindly compare the professions as they aren't measured against the same benchmark.
  6. Point being, that if CWC don't want to donate or sponsor, it is their right. Why should their name be blackened for choosing to spend their funds elsewhere? Not right.
  7. Which speaks to my previous point. No one party is without blame for the carnage on our roads.
  8. You make a very good point there. The ability to apply restraint in a situation where someone else , who is more vulnerable than you, is transgressing is surely something to strive for. I don't think the average driver in SA is able to act so maturely.
  9. Please just don't include me in that we.
  10. Perhaps. But I must add that the cycling infrastructure here is so lacking, that excess conflict is inevitable. A number of factors contribute to the skewed perceptions on both sides.
  11. Not been here long, and that seems about right.
  12. I am so tempted to part with some hard earned cash.
  13. Did you take that Richard? It is stunning.
  14. This is astounding. Big-up Wayne!
  15. I must disagree. As a daily commuter, I am constantly amazed at how recklessly people drive cars. My experience has also been that taxis are of the most considerate drivers to cyclists.
