  1. Also had some great service from CL Cape Town CBD.... Great guys!
  2. Guys, I actually cycled with Shaun Leach when I was at uni in Potch, around 7 years ago... He's not a friend of mine now, but don't think he's a crook.... Allot can happen in 7 years, but he was a decent guy back in the day. Obviously he's way of dealing isn't right in this cash, but I think you should get your bike tattoo.... Hope it works out.....
  3. That's a CAAD4 frame.... R5.5k IMHO is too much... Depends on condition, but looking at components and being a CAAD 4 (up to 10 years old), I'd say R4k is closer to a fair price....
  4. That guy rips! By the way.... I recently got a 26" Giant Trance after a few years on 29ers... And, it was quite surprising to find 26" wheels can still roll After many a wheels size debates I was left to believe a 26" wheel was closer to a square..
  5. No prizes for guessing what might come next... 650b specific saddles http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/fizik-thar-saddle-first-look-38938/
  6. Thanks for input guys.... But I'm feeling more confused right now Guess there's no wrong or right choice... Will have to flip a coin...
  7. Ok guys, So I'm sitting with a major first world problem here, I might not survive this.... Keen on getting a Giant Anthem but don't know which one to get... I have a contact where I can get Giant's at an excellent price. So not really considering other brands at the moment. Hard time to decide if I should go Anthem X1 or Anthem X Advanced 1.... Anthem X 1 (SLX/Alu) http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/anthem.x.29er.1/14826/66148/ Anthem X Advanced 1 (XT/Carbon/Better Wheels) http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/anthem.x.advanced.29er.1/14825/66150/ Both bikes have the same Fox CTD suspension... Price difference around R12 000 for the XT/Carbon/Wheels upgrade... Worth the extra cash? I'm no racing snake, and earn a "normal" salary. But looking to keep this bike for a few years. Do I bust the bank now and enjoy for years to come? Or keep cool and buy better value? Have some cash for nice wheelset as well then? What do you think?
  8. Yes... Looking at Giant as well... How much can you get it for and from where?
  9. For the road.... Carbon all the way. MTB, not as important.... Wheels, tyres and components more important.
  10. Not meant for debate... Enough of that already... But good read... http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/article/trail-tech-cutting-through-the-275-hype-38058/
  11. Agreed.. My 2c..... He was the best tour rider for those 7 years in my mind... Think all ex-pros who raced with him will agree. I always find it interesting how when any cyclist loses their title due to "cheating", the second positioned cyclist almost never accept the victory. Like the 2010 TdF title that went to Schleck after Contador lost his results after failing a doping test. Schleck's immediately responded by saying "in he's mind Contador was still the winner" - ?!? I'm sorry... But to me this can only mean that the pro's all understand what's going on. They know they are all already competing on the same "level" playing field. Now, Armstrong was probably the biggest (and smartest) dope, but he also was a fanatic professional (and a windgat bliksem, bully, etc etc), doing everything at 110%. But he's obsessive personality gave him those victories. I was never a fan of Armstrong, Ullrich was my man for yellow. Back then I knew they were doping, just like I know many pro's still do. And, in NO way do I condone doping or make light of it, it's an evil in our sport. I've only accepted it in the same way as many other issues that's simply a part (fact) of life. In a way, part of the definition of "Cheating" sums it up for me: "It is generally used for the breaking of rules to gain unfair advantage in a competitive situation" If Armstrong's contenders were doping - it wasn't really an "unfair advantage" - therefore it's possibly not even cheating in the full sense of the word - at least not against he's competitors. It does however break the rules and cheat the public, fans and young hopeful cyclist who aspired to be like him and become a pro. It's very likely that those 7 victories will go to cyclist who also doped - no sense in that. So yes... Give them back to Armstrong. He did finish in Paris with the best time on the clock. There's allot more to be said and debated... But think that's 2c worth now...
  12. Road: Cervelo R3 / Dura Ace all round - 7.5kg +- R10k/kg - Ouch! Not sure what the MTB weighs...
