  1. Hi guys and girls How good is cycleart and/or tokenfreaks work at respraying bikes?? I am considering repainting a carbon bike but would like it to be a mainly raw carbon colour.. Do they sand all the paint/decals off before painting the bike? How much would it cost (frame and fork)??
  2. Thanks for the help guys!!
  3. 101SCC I also have the same notion as you. I'll just have to try and see.. Not UCI rules but u16 and Junior cassettes (16-27) and (14-25) that don't exist in 11s
  4. Hi guys Is it possible to use the Campag Centaur Ergo 10spd shifters on an 11spd Record rear deraileur on a 10spd setup? have to use 10spd due to UCI rules but don't want to buy a new rear deraileur? Thanks
  5. Hi guys Is there a difference between the Record and Super Record Bottom Bracket cups?? I've got a Record 10spd crank and need to buy the BB-cups and would really like the black Super Record ones.. Will they fit with a Record 10spd crankset??
  6. Excellent idea..!! I was just wondering how cool it would be if there was an equal like the Tour Down Under Take it from Mpumalanga, then the Drakensburg to the coast till cape town!!
  7. hahaha.. With me its because the headset's bearings are slightly worn and my handlebar has a 'dead' position facing directly forward. Maybe your headset is a bit too tight???
  8. Hi guys I'm wondering what is the best way to clean a road bike's drivetrain... Here's my method: 1 I've got shimano so I undo the SRAM link 2 take the cassette off 3 put the loose chain and cassette in (Valvoline) degreaser 4 wash well and rinse woth water 5 dry the chain and cassette with a cloth 6 clean chainrings with a damph cloth 7 re-fit chain and cassette 8 spin the gears to get excess water off 9 lube with WhiteLightning or Squirt (dry lube) Is it a good idea to totally degrease your chain and cassette or is clean green fine? What do you do when you have campag? (about the chain cleaning) Is their such a thing as a campag chain link for 10 or 11 speed? What lube is best for typical South AFrican Mielie Lande road riding? (Semi-clean roads with dirt patches here and there) Which groupset is the most user-friendly considering wash and lubing and maintaining? I wash and lube my bike every 2 weeks (I average about 450km a week) Thanks guys Any comments will be highly appreciated
  9. What is proper lube?? for a road bike??
  10. Edman, I've heard that Total cycling's prices are vat excluded. Is it true? A friend of mine said that he bought a campy groupset from them and when they went to the checkout the price suddenly jumped by 1-2k?!?
  11. Okay thanks Edman and E1A104 I'm thinking of getting the Ultra torque cranks so looks like I'm just going to need the BB-cups Thanks a lot once again
  12. Is saxo bank not riding specialized anymore???????? What are they gonna ride now???
  13. Velo. I'm going for a BMC so its English thread. Have you bought a crank from CRC before that you know that the bearings come with it.?? Thanks for the help!
  14. Okay well thanks a lot guys! The funny thing is that I e-mailed CRC to ask them about the bearing story and the guy responded that I need to buy the crankset, BB-cups and then even more expensive bearings. (the campagnolo Rec/chorus 11x bearings)
  15. Velo Are you sure? It doesn't state anywhere at the crankset that the bearings are included
  16. Okay thanks.. I was just wondering because on these BB's there is a kind of 'tube' between the BB cups http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=19366 Is that just because its another make? It is a road BB. I find it looks abnormal if the crank-axels are dangling freely inside the bike's BB-hole. Are all campagnolo cranks fitted like this Thanks
  17. With u14 gearing you need a smallest cog to be 17 teeth. What one of my friends did when he was u14 is get an u16 cassette (on a 10spd bike) and just replace the last cog with a spacer. Just make sure that you set the rear derailleur right so that it doesn't shift the chain off the cassette!!
  18. These are the items that I have on my list. Are they the right ones?? Do I need anything extra?? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25243 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=26127 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25576
  19. Hi guys. I would like to order a campagnolo Record 10spd crankset from crc but I'm not sure what I need to buy. I've already got the Chainset, BB-cups and bearings on my list... Is that all I need to buy or are there extras needed? The BB-cups don't have that internal axel tube which makes me wonder if I'm buying the right stuff. Thanks Christoph
  20. Thanka!!
  21. Hi guys Does anyone know what size and/or type of headset a BMC Pro Machine would need?? Also what diametre FD clamp and seatpost. Also if the BB-thread is English or Italian (70mm or 68mm) Thanks
  22. well I have had shimano for a while. My dad has campag record which I would like ti 'inherit' from him if the cost is not to much... I really love the feel of campagnolo ... The main reason is because of the stern and adaptive(front derailleur) shifting and the ergo levers with an excellent braking fulcrum
  23. Thanks a lot for the feedback johan.. I totally agree with you.. I was just wondering if it would be worth the try
  24. Thanks a lot for the feedback guys!!
