  1. I have been part of teams and have appealed to UCI refs before. It was a joint decision. I've also been involved when we as riders wouldn't let the team appeal. But in my experience, it's a joint decision.
  2. Post proof. What's an "Oli"? Seems like Scott (beukes and heyns) launched this appeal. I don't believe you.
  3. No, in this instance, lance is a perfect example. He probably shaved more than 5 meters off the route. Good thinking there. Again, my point of silly little saffa "pros" versus the rest of the world. can't win on the road, so look for anything to get an advantage. No-one complained at lance, same as no-one complained at sauser in the prologue.
  4. So, I'm confused, this page: http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/cape-epic-2014/stage-4/results would have beukes and heyns (from scott - who seem to have been sore losers and complained like little children) in second, so surely they would inherit the lead? Where do you get the RECM guys benefiting from this dumbasseddness?
  5. So, it was the second placed team in the "africa" competition? Oh, well, go read my previous post. You go beukes and heyns. I wish you all the luck I can summon up for you.
  6. Probably 1000 (about 10-15K in rands) swiss francs. Maybe 30seconds. Depends on the stage and the rules on that particular stage. In road races (and especially stage races) different rules can apply day to day.
  7. Yeah, funny man. Without the penalty? Has anyone seen the footage, and can they tell us how much these guys gained?
  8. I was just thinking of all the doper inspired protests. Funny how this makes me sad to be a south african. It seems like the proper pro's don't give a **** about a minor indiscretion like with Sauser in the prologue, but the typical saffa will kill you to gain an advantage. Kind of reminds me of how south africans treat each other in traffic and so on.
  9. How much time did they gain as a result of all this? Has anyone seen this footage?
  10. Well, that stage set us up for an eventful summer. Thank heavens that Froome is mortal, and that Contador has found himself again. Throw in the wild cards, and this deck is stacked for awesome!
  11. It would probably depend on the frame size, but I'd guess that a couple of blasting caps would pretty much do the trick regardless.
  12. The list of ex road riders in SA who are at the pointy end of mtb races is a long one. Across men and women.
  13. Surely there's a hub member that knows Brent and can get the inside scoop for us?
  14. As a starting point, those that think roadies are soft cocks can go look at some of the pics in that nervous sheep thread. Or even watch the end of today's Catalunya stage. Apparently it's snowing.
  15. Even better were the Chiapucci days, when they'd attack from two or three mountains back.
  16. Ah, yes, in that case, i agree with you.
  17. I agree. I can see Purito winning the Vuelta and the Giro easy, but not the Tour.
  18. Holy smoke, you're brave admitting that.
  19. To paraphrase Naas, "the currie cup Tour isn't won in March"
  20. The arse out of a low flying duck?
  21. But those mentioned in bold have their own thread, don't they? It makes sense to discuss the merits of high this, and high that diets on a thread named after a somewhat famous flip-flopper on the carb issue, doesn't it?
  22. Yeah, thought it would be a good antidote to the poisonous stale garage pie? (PS, I don't eat or drink that crap...)
  23. Week-olds from the local BP and make mine a Tab instead.
  24. I believe all these "high" in any one area diets are all a load of old cobblers. What happened to a balanced diet?
