  1. Jis sorry to hear. Broke into my house on Thursday and took every single piece of cycling gear I own(ed)... atleast it seems like these guys are keen on cycling
  2. Got it yesterday
  3. Currently it slides over the rotor with a bit of effort but with zero allowance for wheel rotation. I will try and get the pistons in further. But I hope you are right when saying that rotors should be universal. Will save a lot of trouble.
  4. Hi all, I bought a set of Avid Elixir 5 Brakes (excl. rotors and mounts), I previously had a set of cheap Shimano's. I already levered the pads open, seems that the rotors are too thick. The following is indicated on the rotor: '160mm 1.6mm THK' Therefore I presume that there is a slimmer rotor in existence. Or is it just that Shimano rotors don't go with Avid brakes and vica versa? Will buying avid rotors resolve my dilemma? Please advise. Regards
  5. Ja looked everywhere ad well... nothing available. But give buycycle a call
  6. Thanks guys, The hub is always helping to educate us beginners. Much appreciated
  7. Thanks, what is the main differences in functionality between the two?
  8. Hi all, Rookie Question: How do I determine if a bike has a tapered or straight steerer? Must I be able to see with the naked eye or is there something I am missing? Regards
  9. Smoked for 10 years, started cycling and kept on smoking for 2 months after that. Realised that I had to stop. Champix (it caused a lot of nightmares) and a lot of struggling has kept me clean for 8 months now. Best thing ever. Hey but they say you've only truly quit after a year, FFS still 4 months to go...
  10. That is stil what I have to decide, what would you recommend?
  11. Thanks for the feedback, Order for the REBA is going in then.
  12. Hi all, I am looking to purchase a new fork. Budget is R5k-R6k on BuyCycle. Currently i am looking at a Reba or SID 29er (if I can get a good deal on one). To date I haven't really lookied at the Fox range, don't know why but they do not really catch my attention as much as RockShox do. From what I have heard I must go full out for the RockShox and avoid Fox. If anyone could recommend which one I should look at it would be much appreciated. Please also enlighten me with the main differences between the two. Regards
  13. Sekondeer...

  15. Rather upgrade your current bike or save up for a better equiped one. I bought a revel to start riding at the beginning of the year (for recreational purposes only), now I'm hooked and find the bike kind of unbearable. It was nice in the beginning and the revel is what got me hooked, but after a few months I want/have to upgrade. I take it the GT is in the same class. I would advise you to move up your budget to the next price bracket. Please let us know what you decide. Regards
  16. Thanks for all the help. Will rather go to Hot Spot for a good Momsen fit. Regards
  17. It's the thru axle. What will the difference be?
  18. Hi All, In search of some advice. I'm looking to buy a used Momsen SL929. I am 184cm tall with regular build (93kg). The bike I'm interested in has a 17" SL929 2013 frame. It is going for a good price and it will be hard not to accept this offer. As this is a second hand buy there will be no oppurtunity for me to fit the bike to my specific needs. If there is anyone out there who can answer this question please do: Will a 17" SL 929 frame fit me??? Regards, Derik
