  1. Where is this Bike Lane you speak off?
  2. Hi cptmayhem: maybe a silly question, seeing as i skipped a few pages to the final result - damn fine job by the way. Ahem the silly question is this: is it an alumnium frame? . I am thinking it would be cool to tackle my old steed and give her a new breath of colour. Those step by step instructions you gave are very good.
  3. Well they do say air travel is safer than riding in a car.
  4. thats frikken insane stuff
  5. hahahaha bizkit is funny. Was at DS yesterday late-ish, you guys must have packed it in already. Even so, it looked pretty rad. Although there was a smallish number of competitors. Is this track open for public use, does anyone know?
  6. Last night I did a 3:59:001. I know it sounds unrealistic. It was muddy and I had a flat towards the end. Then I was woken up by my wife, she said I was kicking her in a cycling motion.
  7. I'm going to have to try that sub 7 soon. This talk of fast riding is making my ears tingle
  8. Mmmmm conversation is getting intense - pffffft wahahah
  9. Ja thats the problem. I don't wanna really get to the top and find its a 500m ride! The effort has to be worth or more than the reward. Shot for info
  10. Banna I started about 2 yrs ago coming from XC (and i am a late 30'ies laaitie), we started small and progressed. Now I can keep my balance! It's a really cool way to ride, not that I can do 5m gaps and 4m drops at all. The rock drop at Boomslang in Tokai was my first obstacle and victory and it took me a few months to conquer it. Now it's a breeze and even the triple jumps in DH3 Tokai. So, it's never too late. My small chirp from the side.
  11. Have any of you guys been to the top, top section past the substation (and obviously rode down it). Is it worth the effort getting up? My fitness levels are so low I struggle to change gears in my car without wheezing.
  12. Not sure hey. I've been seriously scarce on the riding scene. I'm claiming fitness levels are down (flu, second flu and now a third for good measure). I think it'll be cool to have a look at the DS. And so wanted to give UA a bash, but we setting up for the Trade show at CTICC that weekend , so thats out the window.
  13. Cap you gonna put a vid up of your sub 7 at Majik? Would be lekker to see in first person point of view.
  14. Cap must put up the video. Or has he already?
  15. Awesome the_wes: I am in the same boat. Just started doing the "DH" thing, and am often out distance, out heighted by 3 yr lighties on hard tails that are barefoot!! I/we love it. It all started one day in Lebanon on a bump in the trail which we rode over and over and over and thought we were legends. Then got a cheap full susser (mongoose) and decided to try DH at Eden near the hut, fell and tore ligaments in the shoulder. Off for 4 months back again with a bigger big hit (morewood) bike and armour, life insurance and a written will. Now I just gotta not think and do, there are some nice jumps in Eden and Tokai to practice. Anyway, I love it. Would love to do a DH "race" but dont have the minerals yet.
  16. Jarek you are not in the possestion of a 350lbs coil for a DHX 5 by any chance? I think the one I have on my shock is a bit hard (400lbs). Just would like to test first to be sure. I have adjsuetd the ring about 2-3mm from when the ring seats the coil, and I weigh in at 65kg.
  17. Yeah, I agree with you about Tokai. Dreams are of this stuff!!!
  18. Stock came into stores now, had a good squizz around - no tube inside. So it's definately not in Cape Town.
  19. Ha hahaha, nice for sale post.
  20. Looks pretty rad. Locally available?
  21. Bloody hell, was that at Contermans!!!! Looks like a 20m plus jump
  22. Also took a Voltage for a spin, around car park though, at CWC. Insane bike, really.
