  1. My chain released a speed link today, THANK goodness it happened after the landing and not into the power pedal to clear the edge. I think my chain maybe too slack?
  2. Good grief, those bearings and head tube must be armour re-enforced. Went to watch race at Eden a while back, were you riding then Cap? Will be site seeing at Paarl as well. Not really ready for a race yet.
  3. Looking at the pics, it looks extreme Anyways will still ride that trail. We looking at being in Eden 10am tomorrow. Thermo: Tokai is a great trail. Caters for most types of riders. D/ville area is probably Majik Forest, short steep climb, short trail down. But you can appaerntly do an 80k if you link various trails together. XC is NOT for me though
  4. Maps are not really available (i do stand corrected) mostly word of mouth.
  5. I am in Cape Town, near a curtain.
  6. Never ride near curtains
  7. Cap, goona try for Sunday. We riding Eden again tomorrow, we have a new rider who is keen to try. I think SH will be a tad extreme for him. Why not give Eden a try sometime? It is a bit far out, but a nice ride, full of jumps, switchbacks, and wild mushrooms. Anyone interested in a Manitou Minute 100-130mm coil fork? Damn the market for coils is difficult this year. Anyway weekend looks rad.
  8. Hahaha, The day I put my Morewood together, I had to test it. Was a bit late in the night, so I rode down the passage down three stairs into the garden. I did not fall but I had a chill moment when the handle bar clipped the curtain while I was going out the door.
  9. Ja, they say at around the 8 'o clock position more or less.. It's a seriously nice looking bike though. Is that your rock garden I see with the gap jump over the pool?
  10. Frikken awesome clip. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/157219/ Good website with terrific DH clips
  11. Nice Patches, very nice. A morewood and a yeti in the same house. What how do you compare the Yeti to Morewood.? A while ago I was contemplating a Yeti, but they did'nt come by very often at the time. Then a good deal came up with the Shova and I took it.
  12. Oooh a bike build, I love bike builds. Is that a new bike build or a maintenance build?
  13. Cap: I would love to tomorrow, but we have people coming round. I will try to make a plan for next weekend though, either Sat or Sun. That run looks so tempting
  14. You guys are really rocking with that SH track. Gotta have a look and lend a hand some time. Will try twist a mates arm to come along. I am really keen to have a ride down SH.
  15. Just come back from a muddy, cold, rainy Eden. Gnarly in the wet, took a tumble, but ended with great 3 jumps in a section we found today. Great, bike is all clean now ready for another session, but sadly only next weekend.
  16. Nice collection of bikes.
  17. Now that would be an awesome trail!!! Wow. That Yeti is a beaut, I have never actually come across one down here, they are elusive. I can see now what Capricorn meant by my Shova having Yeti colours, man and with those yellow rims. Patches your one will look rad with yellow or white rims. Maybe I should have my Shova's rear triangle fading into white
  18. Yes we are all winners. I have never actually seen a yeti.
  19. Sorry Werner - you're correct, they are Spikes
  20. Oh Patches........ Damn nice, old or not. Those bikes get younger gracefully. I like the white fork as well. Wot, I see white Spanks on there!!!!
  21. Awesome SC frame. My dream is the Izimu. Cap, white rims are the bomb. Also maybe yellow!! You WILL be noticed on the hills.
  22. Jeez dude. I am already getting nervous for Saturdays ride Might be cool though, went to watch last years Urban Assault. There was uni and a few guys with hardtails. Mmm might give it some serious thought. Shot for info.
  23. Ok cool, so quite a few trips can be done in a day. Off to Eden this weekend, and a few other interferances (?) the next few weekends. but really keen to try in october hopefully. you normally start at the parking area on top?
  24. Aaah. I remember the days when I used to light up for my dad, take the first puff! Crack open the beer and have the first swig. Now today I can still finish a smoke in one drag and drain a beer in one gulp. Memories
  25. What sort of time does it take you guys to come down SH?
