  1. Just look up cyclist workshop on facebook. I don't want to post his details without his authority.
  2. Yeah I thought the whole thing over again. I am getting back into riding after 3 years, and I am overweight. Going all gnarly and rigid is ill advised at this point. But the frame will always leave the option open to me for later...!
  3. Results.... Throw some feedback....
  4. Ok the part I didn't tell you bud is I weigh 164kg. The carbon stuff is out like last month's pay....???? Lauff too
  5. Apparently Josh was telling me that Hope make a new type of foam internal set of bars. It supposedly absorbs a lot of the rigid feedback that you get from rigid forks. I think I want to give that a go.... It's not cheap, but should be worth it! Also we discussed putting a wider rim on, something with say a 30mm internal width. Run like 2.4 at lower pressure to increase absorption....
  6. Well... The frame was purchased up here in jhb by a gent who owns a shop called cyclist workshop. He is an awesome dude, and his pricing was brilliant. His name is Josh. Just tell him Big Chris referred you!
  7. Hi there, Will ss be forgiving on the strenuous climbs in XC? Or is it just a matter of momentum and man the f up...?
  8. Well, here is my brand new frame.... I can't decide if I'm doing the single speed rigid, or suspension geared... I am a XC rider and also enjoy the bit of play... Nothing on black diamond level, but switchbacks, single trail, roots etc. Any rigid riders that can give valued insight? How are the wrists at 40km in? And single speed? Another question, is 650b a viable option for the marathon rider, or is it 29 all the way...?
  9. Ok,have said before,I weigh 155kg. Vittoria Saguaro really impressed. They improved their design. Conti protection tyres, have a 240TPI count, which make the sidewalls strong, but the tyre heavy. Saguaro made their sidewalls 240tpi,and the top of the tyre(tread),120tpi for faster rolling. Also the Saguaro has directional knobs, that you can run either for traction,or speed. I turn the front for traction, and the rear for speed. Works beautifully Cheers

  11. Oh sorry,I must add that I built XC marathon bikes. HD-enduro Saguaro XC
  12. Hi peeps fitted new Vittoria Saguaro tyres to two builds. They are my new best tyres. Amazing, grip, grip, grip. Even the wet was deadly. BUY THEM!! Regards Chris
  13. To both guys for enduro tyrea. Don't look at anything but Hans Dampf 2.35 front and rear. Go for the pacestar(harder compound)at the rear, and trailstar(softer compound)up front. Those tyres are bombproof, and extremely grippy. They don't wear too fast either. Check on easybike.co.za Matthew Walsch has THE BEST pricing on german tyres. BTW,a new tyre getting insane reviews,is the Schwalbe Magic Mary, which is a do it all Enduro tyre. A bit more pricey, but still better than anyone else in the industry. Cheers Chris
  14. Yeah that's a GT Zaskar. Awesome bike.
  15. Thanks brother.
