  1. about 20 mins from the cradle. Usually I go to Nacrec and do loops there.
  2. I need to make my way to Auckland Park after the race and was thinking of just riding back there. Does anyone know if Nasrec road past Riverlea then crossing Main reef road will be possible for me to use. (it's part of the route so not sure if I'll be able to get back after I finish at around 11am)
  3. Thanks guys. So if I park at Bidon and just ride following the road, I can get 27km. How do I make sure I don't end up on the longer route- I just want to do the 27km -btw I ride a road bike

  5. I wanted to go out to the Cradle and have heard there are 2 "loops". Firstly, where do I park? And secondly, how do I know where to go for the longer or shorter loop? TIA

  9. I dread hills- I'm a pretty k*k cyclist but ride for fun. Can someone tell me the approximate length/gradient of the tough climbs at the end.

  13. Need some advice guys please. I plan on doing a sub 5. don'r ride much outdoors-mainly on trainer and I struggle up hills Do I use 2 bottles or one. someone advised me to take 1 bottle save on the 750g weight and rather stop and fill up at the water points. They say it takes less time and will really help on the climbs. Yes/no?

  15. Starting slow was my plan 😄 My worry is not finishing in 5 hours it's actually just finishing. Having the figures and power output needed would set my mind at ease and likely prevent me from jumping off the bike and walking.

  18. Hope someone can help. I only ride on my trainer and am entered for the CTCT. I have an awesome FTP of 153W , weigh 78kg, 49 years old and am pretty useless on the bike. I am only concerned about Jan Smuts, Edinburgh Drive, Smitswinkel, Chappies and Suikerbossie. What power over what time would I need to maintain to comfortably climb these hills (I am not worried about getting up as fast as I can just want to keep my heart rate comfortable to complete the race in 5 hours. If anyone has the gradients and distances of these climbs, it would be appreciated. Thanks for any help I
