  1. "Suitable for: Hinges, bolts, locks, joints, pinions, bowden cables, sliding rails, rollers, drive trains etc."
  2. Anyone used the Wurth pressure resistant silicone lube yet? Thoughts? I know it is not cycling specific, but it seems to be working well
  3. Hairy... I've been reading these forums intensely the last couple of weeks and this is exactly what I thought happened... Haha! Good luck with that something! And besides, it seems like way too much of a betrayal to use something other than steel for a sweet ss.
  4. LATE POST Just saw a aluminium Highball in CWC for my ss dream - Hairy have you built yours up already?
  5. Is it possible to insure my frame against damage due to a fall?
  6. Just got a set yesterday - will be testing them out in Stellenbosch and comparing to Rons and Ralphs. They came on my bike, hopefully they are okay!
  7. Maybe I will get an el cheapo riser until I figure this out. Then I can crash in confidence until I have a solution...
  8. Just as a sidenote, I am getting gripshifters as soon as I can afford it, which would probably solve this issue - but in the meantime I don't want to do any lasting damage.
  9. Hi Shebeen - setup is right, same as its always been, although I have thought about something like ergofit of bg. Hi Nolipoli I'm 1.76m smack bang in the middle of the BMC Medium sizing! I decently tested the small out before buying (my goose has one), but it was too cramped. I'm sure the medium is the correct size. My bars are not slammed, neither am I running a negative rise stem! For the weekend's Tru Cape I'll make a backyard-I-hope-nobody-sees-it fix, but hopefully I'll find a solution. Thanks for the advice so far!
  10. Hi Hubbers So I just got my new carbon 29er (first 29er, first carbon - yes I am very happy) BMC Te02... But now all of a sudden I am terrified that when I crash (this is certain, it happens regularly), my handlebar will swing past 90 degrees and my shifters/brake levers will damage my toptube. Could any of the old hands please give me some advice on how to prevent this? The options I have thus far is: 1. http://www.acros.de/PRODUCTS/HEADSET/BLOCKLOCK:::3_91_145.html 2. Helicopter tape; 3. Loosening my shifters and brakes (tilting them upwards is too uncomfortable); or 4. Not crashing, at all, ever. Any thoughts?
  11. Too much. Will they negotiate? I went to my LBS (BMT Stellenbosch) last week to get a new tire (26"), they had only 1 (!) in stock - seems choices for our 26 brigade is fading... Keep that in mind. I'm sure you'll still get everything online though, but it's nice having a beer at your LBS.
  12. Cool. Same here. I'll let you know when I plan on splashing my cash and we can stay updated.
  13. Anyone received any light-bike mtb rims yet? How are they holding up? I might go for the hookless bead design.
  14. Has anyone wrote a virtual pacer app for the suunto ambit 2, or know where I can get such an app? It is a function I really miss on the new Suunto Ambit 2! I thought writing apps on Movescount would be easier...
  15. Would the xtr cluster be compatible with the xx1 rear derailleur?
  16. I've read that the smaller xxi spider and chainrings are more expensive to produce, thus the larger bcd on x01. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/sram-x01-groupset-first-look-38021/ The only negative of this larger bcd the mention, is that you will not be able to run a front chainring smaller than 30. Are there any other notable factors to take into account?
  17. Wait a minute.... ELECTRONIC?! Didn't read that in the sneak peak! I might as well buy what is available now. Between this and the new RS-1 I'll kiss my credit history goodbuy.
  18. I'm still waiting for the current XTR to trickle down to an affordable level... Haha!
  19. Read that the cassette is made up of carbon, titanium and alloy... probably not the bargain I was hoping for then...
  20. Finally! Check it out here: http://twentynineinches.com/ PS: The article has subsequently been removed!!!! Why?
