  6. I have no idea if this will pass, but ask the seller to break down the full bike when he send it, might save some money on space for shipping and might go through as spares
  7. Anyway, when powder coating an already powder coated frame you will have to have the old powder stripped using sand blasting and that is where the problems might come in. On an alu fram sandblasting causes heat through friction which compromises the structural intgrity of the frame if th blast is placed on one spot for too long. Another problem is the bead size (powder), fine beads might not remove the old coating thus a bigger bead is needed, when using bigger beads only some of the paint coating can be removed as they tend to damage the alu itself leaving very small dents in the frame. These small dents will show up when re powder coating the frame. So in short when wanting to powder coat make shure it is a steel frame or an alu frame not having previous powder on if the alu is thin due to the sand blast process needed and if the alu is thick that the guys doing the sand blasting know what they are doing. Just for safety sake, be there when the blasting is done.

  18. Did a similar pimping job with my DH bike, had it powder coated. The thickness of the coating meant everything which had some type of fitment to the frame had to be sanded down 1mm. Two expensive bearings, new grips, seatpost, seatclamp and lots of money later I am quite proud of it
