  1. The partner applies for a spouse visa. The partner is free to apply for any employment whereas the primary applicant should stick to their original field/job until PR is attained.
  2. Just stumbled across this thread. We submitted our work-to-residence visa yesterday. We are going to Wellington.
  3. Love This.. Buzz warned him several times and the guy eventually resorted to insults. Totally deserved that clanger on the chops.
  4. Ahh, a bunch of Capies floating about in the last of the CT drinking water.
  5. Groot Confused
  6. Read about Charles Bruce. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_%22Nish%22_Bruce "In the early 1990s Bruce trained with Loel Guinness' High Adventure Company and Joe Kittinger to skydive from the edge of space from 130,000 feet and break the highest altitude freefall record previously set by Joe Kittinger himself in the 1960s" He wrote an autobiography under the pseudonym 'Tom Read" called "Freefall" - Fascinating read.
  7. See this.......the highest mountain on Earth, measured from the centre of the Earth. Chimborazo, Ecuador. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chimborazo
  8. Route 42 is a doddle in comparison. Double the climbing this Saturday.
  9. Nope, Lasportiva's. You can't climb 5.12 with 5.10's
  10. Is this in Cern?
  11. Now that's funny!!
  12. Cannonball run part 2 - I believe
  13. That is one of the best albums that I own
  14. Agreed. Hence my original comment (post 1). Stay at home and leave it for the rest of us.
  15. I believe you misinterpreted the statement. The thumbtack story was a disgruntled local that grew a hatred for the cradle cyclists. Inconsiderate litterbugs could cause a similar reaction.
  16. I saw a Police Audi A3 with a very broken radiator at the turnoff to Strekfontein Caves. I think he must have been flying and hit the bump. Drove the shocks up into the bonnet and hammered the radiator into the tar. There must have been 20 FEDS there to help console the poor guy. He must have been very upset.
  17. I would just like to applaud some of the complete toolbags that rode the Cradle this morning. Outside the Nedbank place on the way up the hill to Kloofzicht, Reach for a Dream (I think) were handing out IceLollies. A lovely gesture and much appreciated because it was warm out there. Here is my rant, why throw the packet on the floor when you are done with it? Who do you think is going to clean it up? You and your 150 (that must be how many were on the floor) mates are filthy scumbags that ruin the sport for everyone else. No excuse can justify you doing that! If you didn't want to put the sticky packet in your pocket....THEN YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN ONE!!!!! Please stay at home and sit in front of your big screen tv and leave the rest of us to it - please! You know who you are.
  18. Bayticol and Peripel are both designed to be used as a wash-in/Spray-on for clothing. The active ingredient is called Permithrin. It is NOT designed for direct skin application. It is, however, extraordinarily good at repelling insects. Pros - lasts up to 3 months from application, cons - bad for the environment (does not degrade), does not protect exposed skin. Tabard, Peaceful Sleep, Bushman etc. use a chemical called Di-ethyltoluamide - (DEET for short). The higher the DEET content, the better it is at repelling insects. You can up to 100% DEET content. PROS - Nothing beats it. CONS - toxic. Not intended for prolonged usage (no more than 2 weeks). Definately not for kids (can cause a fit). It is banned in many countries worldwide. Citronella, NEEM, LemonGrass, Kakhibos (Natural stuff) does certainly work. Just use lots of it.
  19. Not many know about THAT Blouberg. Climb much?
  20. I know this is terrible, but it is also VERY funny.
  21. I got bitten by a (suspected) sac spider just before the Sani this year. I ended up taking 4 different kinds of antibiotics and had to have my back lanced to drain the rubbish that was building up under my skin. I had a 4cm incision in my back. I couldn't sell my ticket a week before the Sani and contracted Flu because of the antibiotics. I still rode. My answer: go to the clinic and get them to cut, get off the antibiotics and give it a week. Then start your training. You will be fine, 70.3 is a long way off still.
  22. https://www.facebook.com/events/353194518113034/ Wear White, and bring a headlamp and helmet. This is for safety!
