  1. R500? Seriously! If it is in good condition R2500 to R3000. That was not a top spec bike in those years, but it is a classic and can be restored with some tlc and old school maintenance.
  2. Village cycles sticker on the toptube. You can double the price.????
  3. I have a 2018 Giant Trance 27,5 and very happy with it. If I’m not mistaken Scott also pushed hard on 27,5 for a year or 2? Don’t think it will ever be gone completely. Quite a few e-bikes are also 27,5 and having played with the gravel bike idea i think 27,5 x 1,9/2,1 is the way to go.
  4. I can recommend the Fabric range. They do have test saddles, but it’s a matter of finding a bike shop that have test models. As mentioned earlier in this discussion go for long rides to test, because the real pressure points only come out after 2-3 hours of riding.
  5. Great idee. Good luck finding a reasonably priced set of delta brakes. The silver groupset will look awesome!
  6. @eddy, have you tried Dave Mercer for sliding dropouts?
  7. I’m very happy with my Giant Trance 650b with a 160mm Pike on the front. Giant has some 2017/2018 Trance Advanced framesets going at ridiculous prices, although think only size L available.
  8. BMT/ White Stone Cycles - owner Paul Gibbens. In town, complex next to the Church at the traffic circle. Hermanus Cycles - owner Leon Prak. In Town behind PicknPay centre, Long Street. Village Cycles - owner Jannie Nel. Hemel & Aarde Village complex.
  9. You could also get a 120mm airshaft for the Reba and then put that in the Chamber. It will be your cheapest option to do a upgrade right now with the 2 forks that you have.
  10. Rock Shox Pike, Rock Shox Pike or otherwise Rock Shox Pike. ???? Don’t mean to fool around, but it is an amazing fork. For a bigger guy i would probably run it at 130 to 140mm travel on that Chamber.
  11. Wow...... if that was lying on the dashboard it probably would have taken out the windscreen?
  12. Thanks for the input guys. I’m also in the market for a dropper post and on a budget. I did some homework and these 2 posts looked like the best value for money. The Lyne does have more positive reviews and it’s a local brand.
  13. I was fortunate to be invited on 1 of the recce rides for some new sections that have been built. Very nice Start/Finish venue. We rode about a 26km loop of mostly new trails and singletracks and it was very nice riding with good flow and enough places to pass slower traffic. It is a beautiful area to ride and i can highly recommend. The entry fee for 2 days of solid riding is also very good value for money, considering what some 1-day events cost.
  14. The video does not show the whole incident from the start.
  15. I agree 100%, but i think we all know something happened that caused this incident to escalate to what it is now.
  16. There is usually 3 sides to every story. The park ranger, Nic’s and then the truth, which we will never know.
  17. That is a much better option as opposed to a Game special. V-brakes will work on those brake boses. V-brakes replaced cantilevers and mounting positions didn’t change. If well looked after, that bike will last a very long time.
  18. In a way it doesn’t look that bad. Could get use to the different look. It will definitely draw attention. Although standover height looks a bit tight?
  19. I had one of those. Where did you find it?
