  1. Was really impressed how the event was run. Very good traffic marshalling and free booze lol My standard as always happened. Stage 1 - 2 technical and a puncture stage 2 - rear hub gave trouble and became unrideable and had to take a spare wheel (will take a penalty for it) that was a junior restricted gearing and chased back to the 3rd group on the road where my gf fell back to to wait for me. Me over the bike picture, lyk of ek n drol uit druk stage 3 - no issues finally but just had a chilled ride further. Left the racing for the strong boys and girls stage 4 - the previous day gin took a bit of a toll not to mention that I only discovered yesterday a small ligament torn in my ankle that I thought was just a sprained ankle that happen on the day before the race by doing rope skipping in a school event well done to all that did the race. As always great fun and commendatory in the event. but those e-bikes made us all look like beginners on the climbs
  2. that's all up to you. Start and stop every stage start, stop and save after every stage remember if you use auto pause if will start recording when you free wheel and walk with your bike between the different stages
  3. I had in a 12 week cycle only 1 diamond and you can't just use 1. So it had to expire and the following run of rewards you will get your normal reward if you achieve your goal and they give you n another play. A bit of a stupid rule but that's how they do it as I got 25 points for a diamond. Well at least I got now 2 diamonds in a row, lets hope I can get to 5 then Amashova or Argus here we come.
  4. WTF is this crazy clip. Even an Nigeria karate atty can make a better video!!!!!!!
  5. I have my disagreements on your viewpoints on the whole vegan thing and made believe that everesting is easy no matter what you said in point 3. But that does not chance the fact that you tried and will go for it again. I will respect that.
  6. I does not matter if you are stronger in the group or not. You have to abide by the rules. Don't break the rules as the only way of dropping the other guys in the group. That just makes you an idiot, well a word that starts with a D is more appropriate. We see it even in training rides where guys will ride in such a way to hide from the wind and even if it means to push a girl into the wind. Dgas, don't worry. I'm sure that most will do it even for the ones that say it's wrong, not pointing to this thread itself but more in general.
  7. just make contact with ASG, they might help you
  8. there was an extension to 22 April but yesterday was also to late. Just email of fb message the organizers and find out if they will have line entries
  9. think more a Land Rover to get through the possible pothole section that can easily be created by the rain experienced the past weekend when the trucks, etc use the roads especially to Heidelberg and heading back
  10. The best bet is to look on strava with the segments to see which ones are riden the most Def the road up to Spitzkop is good Long Tom Pass is also good I know the guys ride alot to Graskop van Sabie site. Nice Pancakes as a reward in Graskop Just stay of the road from Sabie to Hazyview. I drove a year ago and that road and the road conditions is bad. Would love to cycle up from Hazycview site but road is bad
  11. yes agree for all 12 to be finish and receive a special medal for team work as this is what these type of race dynamics is about. Whaha then everybody must ride my speed and they push me up the freaking mountain hopefully we will also be back next year and race in the mix cat again
  12. lol don't have to worry about that. Skipping it this year.
  13. I think it's to cut down on risk as teams fly in into the feeding zone to get bottles and go again. So def better for the safety around it. As with last year it also gives the ladies more time to go for a nature break as there where no toilets for the ladies in the fast mix teams and they went behind cars with doors open and towels hold around them, us men are easy we just sling it out and do it.
  14. will see how it goes but we not going into the race with any expectations. Must bigger stuff more me that is important.
  15. Great. Onthou jy mag my teen bulte op stoot, ek is die weak link
  16. ry saam wie?
  17. They should fall under open team Nick. missing the race this year but hope that all will have a lot of fund and the racing will be proper especially in the mix cat as that is always a fun racing category. Do seems like 2 op podium teams of 2018 and 2017 will not be present as the riders opted for all men teams or all ladies teams. So opening it in the mix category
  18. iemand kry n wit hempie
  19. Can't wait for this one. 2 years past since my last one but back this time and riding with my Gf
  20. You can say that of most events. The same applies for somebody that entered that stay in Randfontein and needs to collect his/her race number in Fourways. This time it's a bonus for them. ASG does allow for number collection the morning of the race except for racing cats if i'm correct. The times that I wanted or could not make it I made arrangements by phoning ASG directly. Like my VA number for Lost City I could collect the morning of the race. All I did was pick up the phone and asked them. No biggy to do it.
  21. That's all good and have an excuse. You did a week before a 24 hour mtb race.
  22. easy. To support fellow mates and encourage them. On that specific route you do not find a lot of vehicles. That's why many cyclist actually ride that route because of the few vehicles using it. But that's not the what it is about. There is ample space on the road and as said it was the break away group of 8 riders rolling through to keep the pace up (far left). If it was a group / peleton like the other that came we pulled off or was in the yellow lane. I would fully agree if we where a danger for the cyclist coming from the front, then they can act upon it. But a metro police vehicle with the commissioners behind the group, not the front of it, no justification for metro's action. Also remember there was a few Road rangers motorcycles in front of them and just waved to slow down and move to the far left like they always do and what we did. You also don't act in a way that is a danger to other cyclist / pedestrian / motorist no matter if you are in a vehicle or on a bicycle. We can then say exactly the same or ask the question?. You know that in the cradle is a lot of traffic and cyclist in big groups coming from the front. Why are you cycling then against their flow as you know that motorist will be irritated already and without any metro, officials escorting you. The vehicles also passing the big groups. So who do you want to blame if your where the cyclist that almost got taken out or hit. Yourself of the motorist that acted irresponsible?
  23. That's an awesome looking Factor, pitty about it. Might just be going back to Bianchi for him again lol
  24. believe me I was so p offed with a metro cop. When the elite break away bunch approached from the front ( we where on a training ride and ding the route in reverse ) the metro cop pulled in next to the commissioners vehicle and drove next to him coming head on with us where we far left in the lane (our lane). All of the riders was in the far left in their lane (our far right) and pushed us almost off the road where there is no yellow line, just long grass and rough terrain. we slowed down and as the metro passed her mirror was brushing against me and a huge amount of swear words followed. Sorry for the elites boys that heard me going off at the metro cop
  25. The guy they describe was Nigel, VB rider. He was in the break around 55km when I saw him and when we did our loop he was far behind the 2nd chasing group. He still finished the race
