  1. Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll try find this buchu gel, and if not cleared by Friday might go to the Doc to lance it. If I can manage to 'pad/sponge it', it I might try a short ride tomorrow.
  2. Hi Guys - rather started a new specific thread. I've searched the prior threads and can't find anything definitive, though some scary comments on the net about infected saddle sores which could be fatal. I've got my first saddle sore - which is basically like a blood blister/boil. It does not seem infected, as just dark red. It's swollen/painful and I cannot ride. My question is - do I pop/lance it, or just wait it out for it to hopefully repair itself? It's been 4 days with only marginal improvement. I'm concerned that opening it might invite infection, though leaving it might contain the ''stuff' which might need to be removed? If anyone has experienced similar, please could you share how you treated it. Need to get back on the road. Lastly, it is worth a trip to the doctor? Thanks.

  4. https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/vittoria-rubino-foldable-tyre How about these - 25c - good to have a spare set.
  5. Yeah. He could at least have posted a clip of the final two climbs. The start is boring.
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIPFZdCQVZ8 I see someone posted this on YouTube.
  7. Hi Mike Here are details of a club that has weekly rides. Details are posted weekly, for the upcoming week-end. http://www.citycyclingclub.co.za/ Hope you come right.
  8. Hi Guys. Apologies if this has already been asked and answered... how long is the actual timed portion of the event? (eg 202km less 20km? neutral = 182km)?
  9. Sounds positive. Profile has one bump early on, but then quite flattish.
  10. Hi Folks. Does anyone know what sort of turnout is expected or how many entries have been received so far? Thinking about entering on the day now that the late entry fee is lower, but would be a pity if it's a small turnout like the W.C.E event.
  11. Do you stock this: Cateye Rapid X Rear Light ? If so, sales price?
  12. How about a rechargeable rear light (yes I know winter is almost done.... ) http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/lezyne-led-ktv-drive-rear-light or http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/lezyne-hecto-drive-rear-light
  13. Thanks for comments guys. I have a Kia Sportage and the agent has quoted R8k. Of course they advise that the vehicle's warranty could be void if anyone besides Kia supplies and fits it. Suppose all dealerships 'threaten' in this manner. Damn!
  14. I'm looking for a tow bar (I suppose all the light plugs etc as well). Will then look for a thule quick clip on else the full carrier with lights etc.
  15. Hi folks I'm considering buying a towbar mounted 2 bike carrier, as they are much simpler to use than fiddling with the straps on the boot/hatch carriers. The price I've been quoted (for the towbar) is R6k upwards which is a bit steep as I only need it when I want to carry 2 bikes (when solo, I just put the bike in the hatchback). Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced tow bar place in Cape Town area? Thanks.
  16. Thanks for input, yip I'm torn between classes vs my own (flexible) time at home on a spinning bike....but I do get bored easily, but at least my wife can then also use it. Decisions, decisions....
  17. Yip, considering the one tonner...therefore need some winter training.
  18. A chain is probably better as closer to a bike, but think I'll opt for belt as quieter I believe. Will need to test both. Thanks for input.
  19. Thanks Squier. I also prefer a spinning bike. Yip, bit unnatural, but easier to park in spot where it's ready. Looking for a quiet one, so it's seems that belt is best...hopefully smooth though. Will browse shops and online (2nd hand) over week-end.
  20. Something else guys...is it worth buying 2nd hand or rather just spend a bit extra and get an out-the-box bike? What the lifespan of a spinning bike? Surely the belts wear out?
