  1. Yessss Waldo. This mean we’re actually go with a plan that isn’t “F&£# each other up before we get off the the N2” ? Also- the more public we make our smack talk, the more embarrassing it is if we get smashed. Which means we might race the Peacocks and the Uncles instead of each other😊 🤮🔥
  2. Some reference here to an ad I've posted here for "Knockoff Sutros". OP should consider at the difference between knockoffs/imitations and counterfeits. Exactly as the point with the takealot offering - in my view half the glasses on the market are ripping off one of other of Oakley's designs. What I'm selling is no-name brand takealot style glasess (as it happens I bought them from another hubber and don't really dig the look, so posted them for sale). They're in no way claiming to be Oakleys, and I'm not selling them as Oakleys. I'm all for the rule above and reporting of actual counterfeits. But cheapie versions of top brand products are everywhere, and as long as they're sold as such I personally don't see much issue. Happy to be persuaded otherwise. And if imitations are deemed as illegal by bikehub I have no problems to remove them.
  3. Hi there. This is unlikely of material help to your case, but I had an unnecessarily close shave with a Gourmet Foods truck on the same road, around the same time this Saturday (ie it's likely the same delivery route and same driver). Aside from what may or may not come of the police case, I'd encourage you to contact Gourmet foods and discuss their driver being negligent and, in your case, aggressive.
  4. Thanks Milky. Looks rad, definitely adding that to my spots-to-go-into-the-dark-place list
  5. Wowzers, that's a serious climb. Thanks for sharing - not easy to find outdoor training like that. That is road right? Or road bike friendly/accessible?
  6. I would seriously consider a 4DP test on a proper indoor trainer or at the velodrome rather. It's great to do some proper testing but: A) The 60 minute test on the road will rip your legs and be pretty mentally tough, meaning the room for error is large. B) There's very minimal chance of consistency in your next test. Testing FTP and other maximal power outputs should serve both as a training guide, and as a benchmark for restesting later on. So super controlled environment wins; as does a test that isn't going to leave you limping for days. Have a look at Sufferfests' 4DP test, or I can share a FIT file for IDT/Garmin. A lot of people won't like this, but the 20min output in that protocol is generally more accurate (and lower) than the 20min x95% tradition.
  7. Lekker. Let us know your eventual decision and how it pans out. Then go take the leap, get a road bike, get it properly fitted and we'll look for the post-Argus race report next year
  8. Dooooo it! Listen to Robert on the nutrition. If you're prepared to buy a road bike and get it set up properly (before this weekend, and by a professional bike fitment dude, not just at the shop) - the difference will be significant. That with some decent fueling and you'll be looking closer to 4 hours, not 6. 1st long ride has to come sometime anyway, evidently you're healthy and fit enough to get the bike around. No better opportunity for a first long ride, than a day with full road closure, full gees and well stocked water points. If you do it, just shout here or PM for details of bike fitment guys. Good luck, have fun
  9. This looks rad. Especially the Kickr Do we know how long the segment we're gonna race is? (Y'know, for wahooligan level race prep)
  10. Great, thanks very much for the feedback. Will give it a shot and hope they'll look at road seeding for the gravel anway.
  11. Hey hubbers. Can anyone share experiences of getting reseeded for SAseeding events using racetec results? And/or similar seeding for MTB or road based on times with the other? I'm keen on a substitution for Race to the Sun, but quite eager to start with the A batch and give myself a bit of a tester. If I can't I'd rather not spend the R1000, and just ride to Sun City to meet my mates for a beer instead ;p Any input will be much appreciated.
  12. Yip, you must purchase a Vets license. You won't be allowed to enter VA if you've got an elite license. Rather start in VA than jump straight into Elite, and if you can mix it there you can change your license.
  13. https://cyclesolutions.co.za/ Wessel is epic, proper Retul 3d analysis and serious attention to your feedback. I think it's R1000 including the follow up, and you can add another bike for R500. They're in Randburg, but worth taking the trip
  14. Hello good people. Anyone short a rider? A riding mate is coming down for gees, but has the bike packed and is good for 5.30ish fairly easily. He'll probably moan at me if/once I commit him to an unplanned 180km tomorrow, but will be eager and thank us all after if he does ride.
  15. Pretty much. The hauling around for a long time at mid to low intensity is good for comfort and enjoyment. But often have much lower training effect over time than a structured workout with some HIIT. Garmin, Strava, TrainingPeaks all have slightly different, but pretty helpful ways to show us where we're wasting our time if we're looking for improvement. The discrepancy does seem a little off though, you may want to check your FTP, and HR settings to be sure.
