  1. So, i would just like to have my final say in this matter because some hubbers had their fair share at this one. I was in the process of arranging a sponsored race for 2015 when this thread came up. I could understand the frustration from an sponsor or an organizer point of view, hence why i said what i said in my first post. After all this, i think it was a good thing for this to happen, because it definitely opened my eyes to this sport in terms of sponsorship and organizing and the burden that comes with it. I seems also clear based from the comments, that this sport does not need sponsors aboard, because there seems to be many. ( according to comments) So i have decided to spend my 90k in a different sport that would appreciate the help, because after all, the proceeds would go to charity. Thank you for assisting me with my decision Cheers
  2. Exactly, this is why i commented on this thread. I am here to help and get help if i am stuck. this is what a forum is supposed to be about, positive feedback and projects. e t c.... The last couple of threads relating to events have had a lot of negative feedback and the rate that the negativity goes, will most problably start discouraging organisers of events to arrange more..... If i was a event organiser and i read the various threads after events, i would most certainly not be interested ot arange anything further in fear of being fed to the lions...
  3. I am a memebr of various forums in different formats, and i must admit, this is the one forum that lives around assumptions, bitching, moaning, growling, e.t.c... Please do yourself a favour, and read some of the trheads on this forum and you will soon realise that this forum is fuelaed by moaning, speculation, assumptions, and the like. You sir, do not know me, so you cannot ASSUME ( Again, assumption )that i am part of the statistics. This tread will continue for pages and pages of ranting and moaning untill everyone is board of this, or untill the organisers come back with constructive facts.
  4. Easy, a race of this magnatude, started by the mayor of Paarl would not have taken place if appropriate arrangements was not made. You cannot tell me for one second that if any party objected to this race taking place at any area of this trail, that it would still have taken place? I do think that all the facts are not on the table, and as ASG mentioned, let the relevant parties that were INVOLVED WITH ARRANGING THE RACE meet and iron any issues out.
  5. I enjoyed the race and that is what counts for me. If there are other issues that ARE BEYONED MY CONTROL then i let it be and the organisers must sort it out. Bottlom line, if this event is going to take place next year, then i will be back.
  6. Just messed my coffee....ha ha ha!
  7. That was a brilliant race. Fantastic trails, LOTS of climbing, good marshalling, trail marking, e.t.c...... The organisers of "The Burger" need to take note, because this is going to become a very popular race. Well done to the organisers, i will be back..
  8. Cape Town motorists are not aware of a couple of road rules. One i can think of, and experience daily: KEEP LEFT ! PASS RIGHT!!!!!!!! The poephol driving 80 in the outside lane ( in a 120KM/H zone) does not seem to understand. Sorry, just irritated in general with motorists at this stage. Now.....where is my beer so i can calm down
