Besides the Obvious, Brand, Price,Paint Job Etc. What is the real difference between carbon bike frames, I"ve been looking at different frames for a while now and they all seem to be much of a muchness, They range in price from about 8k to a hellava lot more...... I know there have been issues with some of the local brand carbon frames, but I was under the impression they all get made in the same factories, bar Cannondale, and Trek apparrently. And what would you guys on the hub say would be the best allround carbon frame to look at purchasing..... It all gets a bit confusing

Reckon it's OK I think If the colors changed it could look nice, but wont ride it around reckon you'll be the laughing stock of the bunch, but hey Lance digs it!!! and He's pretty good, and he does'nt care what people think!

Windblown did you have a carbon bike, cause my daughters bike the alu-frame and it seems to be ok? My main concern is that the top tube is going to be to long and she will be riding in a stretched out position.

Can somebody please help me, I have been looking at a Raleigh RC6000 woman specific carbon bike for the wife, but have noticed that on a small the top tube length is 55cm yet they say the size is a 48cm bike, she road a Scott size small 49cm, with a top tube length of 51,5cm, a 80mm stem and she was fine, will it make a difference on the Raleigh, or should I be looking at the XS Bike which is a 44cm with a top tube length of 53cm, the sizing on these bikes is really a bit strange, any advice welcome

Right so here's the deal, approached the shop, and was given the same ol, same ol, exchange rate, fuel prices(funny last I looked Diesel had become a lot cheaper..............most companies use diesel vehicles to deliver I'm sure) anyway not happy that the matter is being discussed on the hub, and offered it to me at R1000-00 take it or leave it, so still more expensive than Coolheat suggested retail. So I left it, just hope they dont sucker some poor unsespecting individual into buying it Right so now that we have that one out the way who can suggest a bike shop South of Jhb that may actually be interested in getting customers into there store as apposed to alienating us may i never shop in the Westrand again!!!!!!!

, Good Morning,Over the weekend DanielXt said Coolheat Distributes CATEYE and indeed they do, just been in touch with them to enquire what suggested retail is on the CATEYE STRADA wait for it R905-00 Inclusive, so probably a bike shop would sell it for R899-00, ok so in a year a little over 50% price increase, hectic yes but acceptable........Now Why then will a bike shop try sell it for R1100-00? Well armed with a print of the weekends posts, the info from coolheat, reckon I'll go see them today and ask for a explanation, will be interesting to see what the the outcome will be. Maybe THEHUB should have a name and shame post, sothat we can take shops that try rip us to task.

I had them do a bike setup as well, but most times the set you up in a racing setup there same system allows for setup for recreational, as well as comfort setup. I agree ride the bike and tweek it untill it suites you. DaLoCO go to bikefitting.com there is lots of advice they give on bike setting, a lot of setting is based on variables like what type of shoes, pedals, etc. If you have an old bike that worked for you, copy that setup onto the new bike.................Enjoy the new One

Dude you're right......Had a look the same computer shipped free from the United states of Obama $39-95, thats new as well, so with tax, import duty if you going to be charged still comes out way cheaper.........Moral of the story as always buy online, I reckon when more people realize this and start buying online, sadly lots of bike shops, and probably distributors are going to simply close down, Business owners in the cycling industry beware, stop milking this cow, and become competive, like our foreign freinds who can do it cheaper, and probably deliver it faster...................mmmm wonder what excuse we will get???? Ah maybe like when everything else goes pear shaped.....................Simply blame it on the previous Regime, and lets not forget Apartheid!!!!!

Last year sometime cant remember, I purchased a CATEYE Strada Cadence Computer for my Daughters bike........Price R595-00, I pobably paid around R550-00 after a discount, Yesterday I go to a bike shop Westrand based to get one for the Wifes bike, because my LBS did'nt have stock, and the Guys want to Charge me R1100-00 100% Increase in a year, now I dont know who ditributes CATEYE in S.A. and would have liked to be in touch with them to find out how this is possible, I mean for that price or slightly more I could probably get a Polar CS100 or CS200.........whats Happening!!!!! or do certain Stores think we are Stupid? wannabesub32009-03-13 23:27:52

Not really a technical question more a pricing one, the last STRADA I bought cost me around R550-00 Not to long ago actually, visited a bike shop today to get one for the Wifes bike and they want R1100-00...... Is this normal? Can anybody tell me what the srp on these computers should be?
