Cyclists will then head to Robe Ferreira High School ( about 1km away ) for Breakkie Total Distance of stage 1 = 42.5km there is also a Hotspot at : 34km KOM : 39.5km STAGE 2 Start at Rob Ferreira high school and heads to Sabie , Neutral zone for the 1st 1km odd as always Same as previous years route Hotspot: 49km KOM :30.2km Total Distance of stage : 44km Finish just before 4 way stop in Sabie Cyclists will then head to Sabie Primary School about 500meters away for lunch STAGE 3 Start inside Sabie Primary School , and Neutral zone to the entrance of the golf course about 1.5km away .After start Route will then follow previous years route . total distance of stage : 60.5km KOM :12.5km Hotspot:44km All routes are clearly marked and there will also be markings and marshals , this includes the neutral zones . for any more info please email : ilse@asgevents.co.za

Howzit guys re the mud pool , yes all the rain has given us nighmares with massive section of route been damaged and a few sections flooded , we have made a chicken run on that piece , but it has dried up thank you for the comments and as with anything we learn and try to listen to the advice . most of the close windy sections :noodles" are on the blue route , yes it was done in some parts to get more distance , but also to keep newbies close to the main buildings yet still get about 13km in . we have spread the other routes out and tried to make them as fun and different as possible the routes are still very new and besides the 15 odd km not yet open we have allot of additions to the existing routes coming over the next few months they include : opening up sharp turns Berms , ALLOT OF BERMS permanent water points and a number of new features but as with everything , budget and time !!! , but it will happen over next few months we value the comments and advice so please keep them coming next Friday night 28th is the Jozi Night mtb and trail run , check out the facebook page :Hero Adventure Park and join , its going to be insane

the water is tested often and quality is great , the midmar qualify swim is at the lake next weekend and so water will be tested for the 3rd time in prob as many months this week and never had a problem .

Guys understandably, change can bring questions, especially when at any event there are always differences of opinion. So I hope this will answer a couple of questions · The route change was decided because of a number of factors including , safety, logistics , control and so on , riding through residential areas was a problem , so the decision was made to improve the event while considering the cyclists · I am personally cutting the route with my teams and the help form Pierre and the guys from Kings Kloof. The area has amazing terrain that has not been ridden by most and we have added a number of new sections which will hopefully expose this to riders. · The majority of sections that has made this route so great have been retained and there are still a number of challenges like the route around the hill that is included. we are in the process of cleaning up as much of the loose rocks as possible , which will make it easier to ride · The new section across the farm Stall is great single-track and not on farm roads, although newly cut and will take time to settle I think it’s a great addition to the route, some great descents and 1 or 2 climbs. There is still a tar section that everyone will have to ride to get onto the route, unfortunately there is no other way to get to the Farm, but not over Hill snacks. You cycle on the lower road that leads to the farm. We would love to have taken this out but it is impossible At the end of the day every cyclist has different tastes and this is the difficulty in creating any route, you need to try and please everyone, I hope what we have done will give everyone something they will enjoy, we believe the new route has better variety yet still retaining as many of the features that have made this event so great in the past. It’s a new route and hopefully will only get better as time goes on The fnl route map is ready and ASG will load shortly

This will be the 5th instalment of the monthly event and bigger and better than ever. The cold temperatures are slowly moving away the excuses of not riding because it’s too cold have no more bearing. If you have not experienced a Jozi Night Rider before you have been missing out. This event is built around having a great time. Bonfires, Great food, Entertainment, gluvine and some of the most amazing mtb routes in Gauteng have made this event one of the most talked about races. The experience of riding your mountain bike in the bush ,surrounded by Zebra , Giraffe , Wildebeest and a host of other game in the dark is something special .add to this some great water points lots of support and fun all in a safe environment for the entire family ,and Friday Nights will never be the same . The Intiem 10km Ladies race ,5:00pm start: This event is catered for the newbies who might be a little nervous to ride at night , it follows our normal 10km route with lots of great single track , fun descents and amazing views 2. Jozi 10km Night Ride , 7:00 Start : The 10km route is designed for pure fun , although incorporating most of the good stuff from the 20km route , this is no race , it’s all about the fun .
