  2. Afternoon guys Once again we just want to thank you all for your support and input. Hero Adventure was created to fill lives with fun, happiness and enjoyment, not to spend time on fighting with people that clearly have no interest in the sport and simply want to prove that money and ego supposedly rule. Fortunately, we believe that the so called “little Guys” can win and the Love, Passion and Effort we have put into the Heia Safari Venue must count for something and we will not just leave and give it over to someone who clearly does not have the vision and passion for the sports we do Hippo in Lake Heritage We put out a statement a few weeks ago and indicated very clearly the reasons for closing the dam. Since then the new management of Heia have posted on various forums that the Hippo are back at the mouth and nowhere near the main swim loop. This is all we requested from the beginning, but because they refused to work together we could not get the necessary info and closed the lake for our client’s safety. Now that we finally have the confirmation from Heia (via their social media forums) we are comfortable that it is safe to swim and paddle in the demarcated swim area. Added to this we have been working with Linden Lifesaving and they will also be deploying extra patrol lifesavers to assist. As of 13 February the dam is open on the demarcated loop in Lake Heritage on a Saturday and Sunday between 8am-12pm ONLY. Please note that open water swimming is never risk free and there are still all the dangers and as such you swim at your own risk. We have taken the decision to open again after careful consultation with Linden Lifesaving and employing extra safety measures. R30.00 charge at the New Gate just off Beyers Without going into a long winded explanation. We have been forced to obtain a number of court orders against the current management of Heia Safari because of various actions they have tried to implement to evict us from the property. It must be noted that WE won all the orders and amongst a number of other conditions it specifically specifies “Allow the Applicants (Hero Adventure) immediate undisturbed access to and Possession of ………….. (all the trails are then mentioned and the portions of land they are on “ Then in another part of the High Court Order it Also States “The Respondents (Heia Management and others) May not Charge any Cyclists, Runners, Swimmers, Canoeists ……. Any fees for gaining access to the dam or Trails Erected by the Applicants (Hero Adventure) on the premises “ There are also various other conditions and points in Hero Adventure’s favor which there is no need to boar you with. The Fact is that they can not damage or alter our Trails, Charge any of Our Clients extra fees for using our trails and facilities and not hinder or restrict any access. Unfortunately the management of Heia choose to ignore such court orders. The Latest charge at the “Cradle Moon Conservancy Gate” is in our opinion just another tactic in their book and look to breach the court orders. After Hero responded Immediately sending emails demanding that they cease charging our clients they responded saying that Heia Safari is not charging, it is Cradle Moon Conservancy charging. “The Conservancy” is aware of our lease agreement of which Heia Management have a legal right to advise them accordingly So in short we are dealing with it and doing our best to sort the situation out asap With Immediate effect we as Hero have decided to reduce our Fee to R20.00 access, so that you our clients are not affected and having to pay more. We hope this helps the inconvenience. The R20.00 can be paid to a Hero Staff Member at the Gate or in Reception, or if no one from Hero is there please pay the money into the Honesty Box in Reception and NOT to ANY Heia staff member. Please note failure to make this payment to Hero, for sporting activities, will mean that entry will be denied to the venue for Sporting Activities. Allot of People are very supportive and we can not thank you enough, with some going as far as to calling for a Boycott of Heia. We are asking that you our supporters not give into the various pressures and continue supporting us and joining us at this great venue. Whether you want to support Heia Safari and the Heia Management after your ride, walk or swim, by going to their restaurant or drinks shop, is your decision. We sincerely apologize to all our clients and supporters for all the inconvenience . We are committed to fighting for justice and hope you will stand with us .
  3. Hi Guys have looked though all the comments and questions , will be making a detailed update asap
  4. Lake Heritage at Hero Adventure – Heia Safari In the last 2 weeks Hero Adventure have recived comments from visitors saying they have heard there are Hippo in main section of Lake Heritage ,closer to the swim loop , and wanting to know if it is true . We take these comments very seriously and together with Linden Lifesaving we have been doing checks to try and confirm these statements . To date we have found no Hippo We then sent a request to the new management of Heia Safari asking for information , assistance and help in this regard . Requesting a confiramtion if they have seen any Hippo in the dam . Last Night 25 Jan 2016 , we recived a reply from Heia Management ,and we quote “ Just who the F… do you think you are ? the day I have to inform you of what how and when I run my business will be a cold day in hell “ We as Hero Adventure take the saftey of all our clients very seriously and without clarity and the neccisary support to best protect our clients saftey we just cant take the risk of putting our clients in danger . Therefore until we get the neccisary confirmation gauranteeing saftey of our clients in the water we have no option but to close Lake Heritage with immediate effect . No Further Activities will be allowed until further notice from Hero Adventure Our Sincere apologies but after consultation with our Attorneys and Linden Lifesaving we we have come to this difficult decission as we feel we have no other option . PLEASE NOTE : ALL Mountain Biking , Trail Running and Hiking trail remain open as normal . no other activities are affected Yours in Adventure – Hero

  7. At this point the trail starts at the kloofsight circle and goes in a clockwise direction for 18km .to get back one would have to use the road . We hope to start the remainder of the trail early in 2016 .there is only 1direction and we are working on getting signage to specify this asap on route
  8. Morning okes , received a couple of calls re this thread and asked to please comment , so guess I’m either a sucker for punishment or hopefully able to give some insight as to what is happening with the Cradle Trail . 1st off since we started with Hero Adventure we knew we would never be able to please EVERYONE , no matter how hard we try( and we are trying our butts off) and the constant changes we make , we always get a bunch of positive , constructive and then some negative comments . Hopefully ,somehow we try and find some kind of middle ground We are always available for feedback, advice and constructive criticism and I trust this shows. Re Cradle Trail : This is a project owned and run by Government. Hero Adventure have been contracted very recently to take over the maintenance on the trails . We are VERY STRICTLY guided by a book of specifications from the client as to what we must do and how the trail must be managed and maintained. We are constantly working with the relevant people to discuss changes but at this point we are still in the very beginning of the project. At this point we are in the middle of phase 1 which is a “clean up phase” in our specification the 1st 5 odd kms are designed for families and newbies . The trail width needs to be 1-1,2m wide with a further 0.5 low cut vegetation on either side. This section of the trail needs to be easy and doable for everyone. From there it will narrow to about 0.6 m and so on. We are currently ensuring these specifications are implemented through the entire 18km and should be done in the next few weeks. Together with this we will be spraying and doing a few other things to ensure the growth and potential dangerous obstacles on this trail are managed. it must be noted that the rains have not yet hit us and there will be a natural narrowing of the trail and this will then ensure that all sharp dangerous rocks and so on have been removed once this happens . Once this phase is done we will then move on to remoulding some of the sections of the trail and making some changes that include flow sections, Berms, camber changes and so on . Trust the above now gives everyone a better idea on the process we are working on , again we have specifications we have to adhere to and I think it is also only fare to give us a chance before forming an opinion on the end result when we are only a few weeks into a 12 month project . You also need to understand that the Cradle Trail is developed to cater for newbies and social Mountain Bikers. it will never be a trail for the cyclists who are looking for seriously technical riding and a above average skill . it is a trail that everyone should be able to ride and a sort of introduction to mountain biking that will give people the confidence to then go and cycle more adventurous trails . Having said that the section from Lion and Rhino will be need a little more skill and the harder you ride the more difficult it will be . Then lastly on Hero and our trail building capabilities or as some might put it “lack there of “ . Guys again everyone has a different opinion and we listen and value all advice. We do not and have never professed to be the best trail builders out there . We learn new things everyday. What I can say with certainty is we work our asses off out of love and passion for the sport. I am probably going to be nailed for this comment but I wish that sometimes guys would just take a step back and come and spend some time with us to see the amount of work and effort that goes into designing, developing and maintaining all of this stuff. It is dog work and long hours in the hot sun, rain and even dark but we do it because we love it. I don’t believe there is such a thing as a perfect trail. Everyone has different skill levels and things they like or don’t. Hopefully somewhere during their ride they get to experience a section or 2 that meets that need and they can go away with some sense of enjoyment. We have said it a hundred times and I say it again. We are constantly learning and welcome comments and advice. We also welcome anyone who has a gap to come and spend some time with us and show us tricks or lessons they have that can improve the products we deliver. You are our clients and we value your support. Ultimately it is you who keep us going and if there are things you can assist with to help us to improve we welcome it. Thanks once again to all those who support what we are doing and those who help in so many ways along the way. Our doors are always open hopefully in a few months there will be allot more positive feedback on the Cradle Trail.

  11. Offical Statement on Current Position of Hero Adventure at Heia Safari Ranch Hero Adventure has a 10 year lease agreement in place in terms of which it is entitled to exclusive use of Heia Safari and various other ajoining portions for all sporting activities and sporting events until 2023. Acting in accordance with the terms of our lease, Hero Adventure have spent millions of rands and extensive effort to develop the Hero Adventure infrastructure at Heia Safari and ajoinung properties , so as to afford an experience that no other Adventure Park can offer to the public. The Owners of the above mentioned properties wich fall within our lease document have recently acted unlawfully by not honoring the terms and condition of this lease document. They attemped to unlawfully evict Hero Adventure and our staff from the properties , and unlawfully removed, damaged and restricted use of various Hero Adventure Features, Obsticles, Trails and Branding belonging to Hero Adventure . This after numerous attempts to come to a amicable agreement with these owners. These unlawful actions prompted Hero Adventure to bring a urgent Hight Court Application to stop the actions of these owners. The judge rulled in Favour of Hero Adventure. Not withstanding the High Court Order in FAVOUR of Hero Adventure , these landowners have not desisted from there unlawful conduct and are now trying various other forms to affect the Hero Adventure Functions and Brand in a negative way. This is a clear attempt to force us off the property so they can take over what we have worked so hard to build. In a clear breach of our agreement, the owners of the above mentioned properties have now implemented an additional entrance fee charge wich they are attempting to collect at the main gate or reception area. This is a fee over and above the R40.00 day pass fee that Hero Adventure have always charged and does not come to us As far as Hero Adventure is concerned, members of the public visiting and taking part in Hero Adventure activities are NOT obliged to pay this extra fee charged by the land owners. Hero Adventure Strongly distance itself from this unlawful conduct The Position of Hero Adventure is clear and in accordace with our lease agreement. The use of the following: · All Trails for Mtb, Trial Running, Obsticle, Walking · All Featues including bridges, obsticleas and various other features · The Lake Heritage water for Swimming and Paddling (Canoe & Rowing) · The Little Hero’s Kiddies Area · And all other conditions within our agreement All the above falls within the exclusivity agreement we have in place and what has always been the case from day 1. A R40.00 charge for a day pass that gets paid directly to a Hero Adventure Staff member remains in place and as far as we are concerned is all that is to be charged. Hero Adventure have made various attempts to negotiate with these land owners, with no success and as such have have been forced to take such action. We have built this brand and venue out of a passion and love for sport. We have always tried to ensure our business delivers the best for our clients and supporters. We strongly appose these actions taken against us and our clients, and the damage to our brand and the sports we embrace . Regards Hero Adventure

Our 1st Park is a growing success and the decision and opportunity to open more parks at other venues presented itself , so we decided to bite the bullet and take the chance For us its not about been loud and shouting from the rooftops , its about listening to our supporters and over time developing a venue that they want . Features they dream of taking on and events they want to compete in . When we opened the 1st Venue . Hero Adventure @ Heia Safari just over 15 months ago we had been developing the trails for over 10 months before we opened , and that was just the start , the real building , changes and moulding was and continues since then . We opened our 2nd Park in Ballito KZN , Hero Adventure @ Sugar Rush about 2 months ago and the same applies to this venue , a work in progress Hero Adventure @ Hobby Park is much the same as the above . The Venue and Land we are able to use is not big and over time we will probably only get around 40km of trails , but to us that is great , this park gives us the opportunity to develop something different , we want these 40km of trails to blow you away . By the Opening on 10 July there will 4 different trails , all varying distances and difficulties , but we have tried to ensure there is a trail for everyone On Offer : · Mountain Biking Trails · Trail Running Trails · Functional training facilities · Paint Ball , Airsoft and Target Shooting · 4X4 Trail · Fishing As with our other venues this is just the beginning and the real work starts from the opening , we look forward to you guys giving the park a go and more importantly as always your feedback , from there we listen and hopefully mould this park into something everyone can enjoy From 10 July Hero adventure @ Hobby Park Will be open the Following times during Winter · Tuesday –Thursday 8am – 5pm · Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 5pm · Public Holidays 6:30am – 5pm Please check out our social media pages for details on entries , events and all updates HERO ADVENTURE TEAM Go to Event Page
