  3. Hi Guys I lost my Garmin Edge 200 at Hero Adventure Park (Heia Safari) on Sunday 29th June. I put it on the boot of my car when I was loading the bikes and forgot it there when I drove off Went back later to look for it, but no luck. If anyone found it please PM me.
  4. My latest SS ...
  5. Yes, you probably were right about the gearing. . However my team mate was riding a geared bike, so I had to gear so I could at least stay in touch with him on the flats.
  6. + another 1, I did on a HT with a rigid fork, it was awesome :-)
  7. Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish on my SS, mostly probably due to the heat, lack of training & wrong gear selection for the altered route on day 2. Managed day 1 fine with 18x34 and decided to stick with that for day 2. Wasn't feeling strong after day 2 & after looking at day 3 profile (hilly start & flat finish) I opted to put gears on my bike and finish the race. :-( maybe next year
  8. Thanks, noted. But I'm going to stick with 18 for day 1, think its technical enough to stay with the geared riders. Plus my partners on a geared bike, so I'm going to have to do my share of the work.
  9. Thanks Edgar, I normally ride 16x34 - Northerns, Modders, B'sorah etc.
  10. USN Cup races were flat, VG definately wasn't :-)
  11. Thanks, but that should read 18x34 not 18x24. Thought I had correted it.
  12. Hi I am planning to ride the Berg & Bush Descent on my rigid SS, any recommedations for gearing ? I did Spring Classic (18x34), Nissan Trailseeker Cullinan 70km (16x34) and Van Gaalen 70km (18x34). Also the USN cup, but they were flat.

  14. I'm planning to do the Descent on my singlespeed this year. Any advice ? I did the Nissan Trailseeker #3 Van Gaalen 70k marathon with a 18 x 34.
  15. We'll be there, its a good race
  16. EC back on the Spruit No wonder the weather's been a bit strange lately http://1.1.1.2/bmi/cdn.bikehub.co.za/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/tongue.png
  17. Well that confimed it, next year we won't be doing this race. After the confusion at the start with the 25km starting in front of the 60km race, when we reshuffles we ended up at the back of the group (maybe 20 people behind us) Probably around 400 people in one start group, so needless to say we were walking within the first 5km's. Even with doing the race course in "reverse", there was still congestion at the technical bits and we still had to walk up the Lost City hill. and down the other side. (I had been looking forward to riding down the hill this year) Section through the Lost City at one place was poorly marked causing the guy in front of me to take a wrong turn, whom I followed. And then the race was only 51km, robbed again. I also felt sorry for the poor 25km riders that missed the poorly marked splits and ended up on the 60km route. I'm sure those that tackled the hill aren't going to be to keen to get back on a moutain bike.
  18. From what I've heard the route for the 60km MTB race is the same as last year and a no batch starts. If there is the same congestion/walking going up the hill behind Lost City and down the stairs into the Lost City , then I definately won't be doing this race next year.
  19. Funny that I was searching for the same thing, so I didn't get dragged off to Sukkel bosrand again
  20. Thank you ASG and Lizle your efforts are greatly appreciated and may the mtb'er that didn't turn in the Rudy Projects he found along the route ....... flat ...... break ..... fall ......
  21. Hi Guys Great Race on Saturday. Except I put my Rudy Project Rydon's down to pump my tyre and in my haste to get going again left them behind. If anyone found a pair of Rudy Project Rydons next to a tree at the water pumps about 5km from the end of the 40km route, please contact me. I did go back after the race, but they were gone
  22. Maybe next week, wrist is starting to feel a bit better ... or is that just the drugs
  23. I think where the problem comes in, is that the quarter final games start at 7:00 and 9:30 Maybe they need to start the race later!!
