  1. I knew I wasn't crazy when I noted that there were no shift levers on Lang's TT bike. http://tour-de-france.velonews.com/article/79582/gerolsteiner-test-drives- shimano-s-electronic-time-trial
  2. Thankfully we don't have sliding windows; Plus I lived with the view for 12 years when I stayed with the rents so I'm used to it (Although sometimes you gotta just stop and stare).
  3. Nope Shortlegs, when I got to the top I chilled, took the photos, watched the sun go down (looked for the green flash - is that just a rumour!?) ... then went down; and turned around at the bottom and went back up till half way. I live in Hout Bay, so darkness wasn't a problem.
  4. Sorry By the way, this is the view from my office
  5. Check at the Seat vs. Bar Height on McGee's bike, the man must be pretty flexible, that looks like quite a stretch. Thanks for the pic Wille, really cool ;-)
  6. Hey guys, Kent. The person who got hit is a friend of one of the people who lives in my complex. I saw my neighbour driving into the complex with a bike who's rear wheel was really bent, so I asked him what happened. Apparently the rider has a broken palvis and collerbone. The motorcyclist actually got puncture as he was riding past the cyclist and that's how the accident was caused. However last weekend, I was riding with my team mates past Llandudno, when a guy on an old superbike in the opposing direction, over shot the corner, came over the yellow island and missed us by just 20cm, and had to dodge another motorbike on our side of the road on the yellow line! I agree, that the superbike riders are quite dangerous. I always think, anyone can take R 50 - 100k and ride at 300km/h without any real experience or skill, which is a scary thought, not everyone is Troy Bayliss.
  7. Zipps are much more expensive. I'm akways happy to punt Easton wheels, I'm more than happy with my Vista SL's and Ascent II's :-)
  8. It was R 14,800

  10. I'm from Hout Bay so that's a tad far 'ey... Enjoy guys
  11. Sorry where? I think I'm going to Tokai with my mates - don't ask me to name any other trails just yet
  12. Sounds hot guys - ha ha!
  13. Hey guys... That is my couch!
  14. I've been a member since 2006 when I owned a Specialized Allez Comp
  15. Because Girls will like me more if I'm a mountain biker
  16. So... I bought the Specialized yesterday The only changes I made were change the X.7 shifters for X.9 and of course did a Stans tubeless conversion. I'll post pics soon... http://www.specialized-sa.co.za/contentbike.php?range=99&bike=51
  17. As a MTB newcomer, will I prefer SRAM X.7/X.9 combo or the full XT on the Scott? Or must I look at the frame as more important?
  18. I'm currently being wooed by the following Scott: http://www.scott-sports.com/gb_en/product/375/636/scale_35 and I was told that the Stumpjumper is in the same bracket too (Round 15k) http://www.specialized-sa.co.za/contentbike.php?range=99&bike=51 Any comments?
  19. Kieth, do yourself a favour and ask the store you're buying from if: a) They have the SL's and what the price diff is, because if it's less than R500 it's worth it... b) If they have the EA70's (previously Easton Circuits) and how much more they are; because they've got better hubs.
  20. Yip, since that's something I'd end up "upgrading" to anyway...
  21. Sorry, I didn't mention. Hard Tail and I'm a Medium (in case anyone knows of a deal)
  22. With winter coming along I've decided it's time to invest in a Mountain Bike.... Therefore I need some suggestions? I think in the region of 10 - 15k should get me decent machine. Thanks (P.S. PLEASE don't paste your dream machines... I also wish I was a bazillionaire six times over)
