  1. Anyone looking short of a rider, let me know I am keen
  2. Am looking to ride if any team is short a rider. I see Kelson is also looking for a ride, we both make a good pair of diesel engines for any team (only I have a turbo switch when needed 🙂) Guy 082 924 4253
  3. Please let me know if your team is short of a rider, looking to enter event. Am a Sub 3 hour cycle tour, master (55 plus). Guy
  4. Wanted to ask if anyone else has had troubles with their e-tap battery where the black clip breaks off. I have had two break in the last three months. The first was on the start line at Kilarney, then yesterday 60 kilometers into a race (where the rear derailleur had been working fine till that point) I could not change gears. I thought the battery was flat but after stopping could see the clip had broken off in the rear derailleur whilst riding, and it feel out when removing the battery. A few people commented at the finish they had had the same problem so I suspect a faulty batch? If so please post as this is a very frustrating occurrence and I hope the manufacturer will back their agent in swopping out trouble free faulty batteries.
  5. We are looking for three more strong riders to join our team for Sunday 22nd March team time trial at Slent road, let us know if you are keen. Guy
  6. So my unit was faulty and the new one works fine. My WiFi router is close by but new unit so far is uneffected. Would only fault the cassette on the new Wahoo as they don’t run well with a new Dura Ace chain (they are a cheap Scram casette). Have put my own cassette on and all good,
  7. Seems like my topic has got a lot of interest. Wahoo have been very accommodating and the local agent in Cape Town has lent me his personal Wahoo Kickr whilst they test mine. The first impression on this unit is totally different starting from the cassette running without grinding noise (I have a new chain), followed by the fact that the power is consistent and accurate!! So it appears to have been my brand new Kickr that was at best temperamental or worse faulty. I await the guys at Wahoo Kickr to let me know. I would say that after much discussion with many people, these units can be temperamental if you are unlucky.
  8. Once again thanks for the insights. Takealot graciously cancelled my order for next week and ASG delivered the next day (thanks guys) ! So with the ANT+ on I thought all would be good. I did the 5 minute test as prescribed by Sean (Wahoo SA) and found no issues. Then did a 6 x 6 minute 250 watt interval session. Disaster - completely inaccurate and could not pedal by the third interval as the power generated felt more like 400 watts (apart from my wifi i need to run Zwift there is nothing else to interfere with the Wahoo). Tested with P1 pedals again and sent video to Wahoo and await feedback. The test showed up to 80 watts higher on Wahoo than proven P1 pedals which I know are within 1% of reality. This is closer to 30% inaccuracy. Then there was continued dropping of power and power showing even while free wheeling.
  9. Thanks for all the input. The process as I can see is not as simply as I thought and now I hear of some of you having issues with interference with Ant as well I am worried. I have however ordered another Ant unit from the local bike shop (Takealot order will be sent back as they dont allow you to cancel orders - not for this forum!) and will test out to see whether I can actually do a controlled reasonable accurate interval session. I will also try the test program that Shaun from Wahoo has exampled will let me know if my unit has a fault. I do want to ensure the correct information is given so will update this thread when i have done this.
  10. How does Zwift work if you turn off the wifi? I guess you might have a direct cable to the wifi, I don't so I hope the Ant+ won't be effected by the wifi signal, that is all I need
  11. Thanks for the offer, have now bought an ANT from local bike shop and will send the Takelot item back when it eventually arrives
  12. Yes I think the kickr 3 is the problem with Bluetooth as your feedback is consistent with what I am hearing with kickr2
  13. Thanks Christian for the feedback, If the Bluetooth is so unreliable then why not sell units with Ant to prevent the frustration I am having. I bought the unit on the assumption Bluetooth would work and I would have a seemless transfer from my old Probeam. I understand that power units wont be all the same and believe the inaccuracy is due to the Bluetooth issue. I truelly hope th 2% will be the case as this is one of the main reasons of upgrading. Consistency is more important than accuracy but it would be good to have a similar reading on the road as indoors. “All major software brands recommend ANT+” can you show me where Wahoo recommend this on the Wahoo website and on the box I bought the unit in? I missed this key point and if there I don’t think it is clear enough That said I believe I am unlucky as the great reviews on the product were a key selling point and it may be my combination of software and hardware, however I want others to know so they are prewarned if their desired configuration is the same as mine. Takealot delayed the ANT+ unit till next week Friday (another frustration that if I had known I would have ordered at the same time) so I may see if I can get a unit before then and cancel the TAKEALOT order.
  14. Thanks for feedback and glad Bluetooth works with snap, think the IPad and Kickr 3 is the issue but Ant should solve. Wanted to share experience so anyone wanting to have smooth transition using Bluetooth or Desktop is warned
  15. Yes I agree the fact that i was called by Wahoo so shortly after my email was impressive as was the old support for the Pro Beam (I obviously sold the ANT USB with the old unit hence why I don’t have anymore) Cannot read entire mail just yet but clearly based on feedback from Wahoo, Bluetooth should basically not be used with the trainer, then why have it and why not sell unit with Ant. That said will try to get Ant ASAP
