  1. Does anyone know if you can downgrade form the full to the half, and what how the process works?

  3. Not 100% sure about Discovery insure, but most all-risk insurance works the same. If you crashed, you need to get a quote, they will pay the value of the quote. Remember best practise with All risk items is, to insure for replacement value and not what you paid. Ps: if your bike is insured for R5000 and the replacement part cost R6000, they will only pay R5000.
  4. Each to their own. I would never buy a brand new car so I get where you are coming form. But if i had to replace my current bike, I would probably go new, unless I get a deal of a lifetime.
  5. The average clause is not applicable on all-risk items. It is only applicable for Buildings, House content, and in a way vehicles. If you insured is for R124 000 they will only pay you R124 000 for a total loss. If the wheels get stolen, they will pay for the replacement of the wheels. I would insure at replacement value. Just saves you the hassle of looking and fining a second hand bike.
  6. Its going to be my second one, hopefully it will go better than my first one. Lets hope for no mechanicals.
  7. Have a look at this tread: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/170978-dixon-3-bike-towbar-mounted-carrier/ I bought one of the them through Takealot, after reading the thread and I am happy with it. The 3 bake carrier is rather hefty and if you live in a flat, just keep in mind it takes up more space that you would think. The way it lock onto the tow-bar is a bit rudimentary but it feels solid and cant see that it would come loose. The way the clamp bar is positioned are different to the other brands. It might be more secure but I personally did not like it in the beginning.. I hope I can explain the deference so that it is understandable, as I did not notice it on the pictures. When racking the bikes, (closest to the car first) you have a space for 1 bike, then you get the Clamp bar, and then 2 more Spaces for bikes. The Thule has the clamp bar closest to the car, and then the 3 spaces for the bikes. Minor difference it think. Overall I think it was a good buy. If you think you are going to get Thule quality at half the price, you are going to be disappointed, but if you look at it from a perspective of 3 space bike rack, that is well made, solid, but a little ruff around the edges, it a bargain. Buy it
  8. I have a Giant Anthem and absolutely love it. (I am just biased like that) Haven't had any issues, so it would get my vote.
  9. Skills Course would be best, but try dropping your wrists when climbing, stops you from pulling the bike up when you put the power down. It helped me when i started. I dont do it anymore, only on super steep hills. Also ask fellow riders that are on the couse for tips, or get someone that has been riding for a while, and follow them on the downhills, once you see the line they take, it would help you too.
  10. Nope, got an entry for the Sani2C and all my spare cash is going that way. Will check next year again, but looking at an second hand Suunto, as they are in the same price rage, and don't have to wait about 2-3 months for it.
  11. I would rather go this route goo.gl/KA2N9U But obviously there are some areas you need to be careful at, and always ride in a group.
  12. I have never heard about it, but at quick glance doesn't seem badly priced
  13. Thanks, but it looks like its the same weekend as the Eselfontein Festival 3 day stage race? Or is the stage race the Enduro? Im confused, anyway I entered the Stage race, so will have to wait and see.
