  1. Looking good!
  2. My KG 196 before getting stripped to fit a period correct NOS DA 7400 grouppo
  3. The Pinarello build so far: Everything cleaned, polished and fitted. Test fitted some white tape and I'm quite happy with the colour scheme so far which brings about my next dilemma I'm thinking about using yellow cable outers but none I've come across fits over the Campy gear cable! So, do I have to use the 'normal' Campy kit or has anyone had luck with a specific brand of cable outers that work with Campy cables?
  4. Those lugs are beautiful!
  5. So after a few months, I've finally decided to strip my Columbus SL Pinarello Treviso of her Shimano 105 components. With the intention of installing a 9 speed Veloce setup, I've run into my first dilemma. The wheelset I want to use (Gipiemme Tecno 416's) is running with a 10 speed Shimano freehub and I can't seem to find a suitable Campy replacement to use my 9 speed Veloce cassette. Would finding a 9 speed Shimano cassette (lower range one with all the sprockets seperate) and using the existing spacers from my Campy cassette work on the 10 speed Shimano freehub?
  6. One for me please.
  7. Is that a Fiat 500 in the background?
  8. I'll make sure of it!
  9. Anyone know more or less the era these skewers come from?
  10. Anyone know where to get these locally? (Preferably in CPT)
  11. Latest addition...
  12. I recently purchased a carbon frame with aluminium lugs with fake Alan stickers stuck across the DT and a big fat "A" on the HT. I didn't so much bother to check whether the frame was real or not, I was just interested in the components on the bike at the time. Pretty soon (about 3 hours later), I had forgotten about said components and I needed to figure out what the hell this frame was. There were no names or branding on the frame or fork (other than the fake Alan stickers). A quick post for help right here on The Hub help yielded little, except for that the frame might be a Carbonio. The inner top tube cabling was unlike any Carbonio though, but the lugs, and in particular break bridge and dropouts were identical! Two sleepless nights later, I stripped her down completely, (the bike), and still there was nothing. The only marking at all was "54X54 74", stamped across the BB, referring to the top tube, seat size and angle. Shout-out to Loose cog! Then I stumbled across a picture of a Carbonio, in particular, a Corsa Super Carbonio (circa 90's I think) and the first thing that caught my eye was the inner top tube cable guides. And then, the lack of branding on the lug that sat above the seat stays and the fork were identical to mine (earlier Carbonio's had "Alan" stamped everywhere). All I'm awaiting now is confirmation from Alan themselves, providing the dude I mailed speaks English/ knows how to use Google Translate. Have a look at the pics and compare them to the one I found on the net. I'll put those in the following post. The frame (including fork) will be up for sale shortly. I'd like to sell it to someone who will restore her and keep her on the road, so PM me if you're interested. Okay, enough words, here's the pics of the frame as best as i could capture them with my phone and $h!tty lighting...
  13. There are no markings whatsoever, I'll take some better pics when I'm back home. As far as i know, i think Vitus and Peugeot had made similar carbon/ alu frames. So perhaps it's one of those... Had a look at the dropouts and lugs and looks identical to the Alan.
  14. A real Alan...
  15. Anyone know what brand of frame this is? Has a mix of Campagnolo, Shimano 600 and Dura Ace components. There doesn't appear to be any branding on the frame besides the Alan stickers... but this clearly isn't an Alan as they all had the seat stays stamped. Lugs look very similar though.
  16. This guy was active years ago lol, do I just PM him? And thank you!
  17. Hey guys, so I've had this 453 Peter Allan for a while and I want to tackle restoring the decals. Besides getting them made, does anyone know where I can get a set, if at all possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  18. I'll trade you some very illegal things for that
  19. Original bars comin' soon, the hipster-ness was left with the previous owner
  20. Right, it is a SL tubed frame however, as far as the groupset goes, I think 105 is original to the bike. I did some scratching on some other forums and it appears there are others like it (with 105 grouppo). The colour scheme is unlike anything I've seen and honestly, I think it's yet to grow on me
  21. Some more Daccordi porn! The level of detail on this frame is so good, I may give up riding it just to stare at it.
  22. So just added these to the collection, SLX Daccordi Pursuit bike and a Pinarello Treviso with full 105 grouppo. Anyone know anything about the Treviso and why 105?? Who brought the Pinarello bikes here? Think it's a late 80's bike . Have a look at these...
  23. Thanks for the response guys, I'll have it checked out in the next day or two to see what my options are. I'd actually like to pass it on to someone who will restore it properly and bring it back from the sad state it's in now to be honest! If anyone is interested or might know someone that is, PM me with an offer? I forgot to mention that strangely there's a De Rosa fork on the bike! I've attached some more pics, and again, they're rather crap, so I'll whip out the camera in the sunlight tomorrow.
  24. Hi guys, I picked this old Daccordi up today. Frame is in pretty rough nick, even the cable guides have rusted off! Has the original Cinelli bars and Campagnolo crank and rear hub. How much would I be looking at at getting the entire frame sandblasted and repainted? Thinking about running a SS/ fixie setup. Obviously needs a good clean, and sorry for the crappy pics, was in a hurry! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
