  1. My chances for finding something cool may be very low for a long time after stumbling across this machine. Here's a peek at what's to come
  2. The Asolo was low - mid range in the Pinarello lineup. As far as I know, Dedaccai tubesets were used over the Columbus tubes and this allowed Pina to brand it themselves. They branded this as Dolmen but I'm not entirely sure where this falls in comparison to Columbus as the Stelvio was also built using the Dolmen tubeset. And then some others were built using Kens. So bottom line, it's a mystery! At R4000, if it floats your boat, buy it! It's not often that these come around and no one likes the feeling of regretting to buy an Italian steed I paid the same amount for my Treviso and it was 105 equipped!
  3. TO ALL IN CPT "Hi all, please join us this Saturday, 5th September from 10am to 2pm, @ Re-Play Cycles & Sport Parklands for a "Show & Tell" of old school retro bikes & single speed bikes. Bring yours along & let's all compare notes & have a good old chat! We will also announce our first coffee ride of our "Classic Steel Riders" club being held on Saturday morning 12th September. Cheers Glen"
  4. Would never have gotten to this stage without your mallet!
  5. Just finished building my Daccordi. A few things still need seeing to, mainly, the steering adapter of the Alter, seems to be 'bottoming out' before it pulls the wedge high enough. Otherwise, here she is!
  6. If we set a date, off the bat, we've already got at least 5-6 Hubbers who will join down in CPT. We should arrange a Sunday morning soon and see what the turnout is like. It will only grow from there, maybe even create a Whatsapp group? Maybe a long shot, but how does 13th Sept (a Sunday) sound, weather dependant, of course? A cruise along the coast?
  7. Mine doesn't seem to want to stay still and hates being tightened! I'm going to try a new bolt/wedge this weekend and see what happens. Other than that, the Daccordi should finally be complete by Monday! (I may need decals for Ghibli disc though - tyerone?)
  8. Those cables look awfully familiar! Between the handlebar clamp on the alter stem, is there a gap? Or would that indicate your bar clamp size is too big?
  9. I had a Suzuki RG200 Gamma, like the 125, but quicker! Hitting the powerband was honestly one of the best feelings I've felt till today! Used to leave 400 VFR's in my rear view mirror until 160-170 or so And then I melted the piston. All time favourite is still the Aprilia RS125. This thread is making me lis to spend some very hard earned savings!
  10. Very nice Eppie! Love the colour of the frame and those Veloce monoplanars look very tasty! Now start the next one!
  11. Me three!!
  12. Some more detailed pics of the Pinarello. Kudos to Kamaalo for the picture-taking!
  13. This is true, but have a look at previous years and even other races, like the Paris-Roubaix. Ballerini and Museeuw had C40's fitted with DA. So, fitting Shimano to an Italian bike isn't really considered sacrilege. Buuuuut... Who wouldn't want an Italian bike with an Italian grouppo? Edit: I have a Moser fitted with 7400 DA
  14. What I'd do for a lap or two...
  15. These Somecs have the best paint schemes! You are indeed very, very lucky. And I'm not very, very jealous at all

(Off topic) It's an 80's Treviso. Came out with Shimano 105, 7 speed. Upgraded to a mix of Campy stuff - Record, Veloce, Croce D'aune, Triomphe.
  19. Hi guys. I'm on the lookout for a set of pursuit bars in the shape pictured. Needs to have a clamp size of 26 mm. Other measurements and colour aren't important.

They were bought individually. Stood in the shop feeling the packet for at least 10 minutes to make sure I was getting the right character. Obviously, this became increasingly difficult and frustrating as I needed less characters. Well, until one morning after breakfast, I popped into a Lego store to find out that they had the characters written on the packets! The set was completed that morning. I really love the Camper Van, what an awesome build it was! (I did it three times) Thinking about getting the Mini Cooper next. Anyone have it?

  24. What other pursuit / lo-pro machines do you fellow hubbers have hiding in your collections?
  25. Oh my Those Alter stems are absolutely stunning! I'll be popping down to my LBS on Wednesday for yellow casings too, will keep you posted.
