  1. Are you going to have some time on your hands next weekend? I have some DA AX bits that need the same treatment
  2. Hi guys! At the end of this year I will be moving and unfortunately, will not be able to take my small collection of Italian steel with me. They are mostly projects with a collection of bits and pieces I have collected over the past few years. I would love to see them completed in the future, so that's why I have decided to drop a message into this thread, with the hope of seeing them completed here. If there is anyone interested, feel free to PM me, I will be letting them go for what I've spent on them. I will update the information of each bike as I go along and gather the strength to let them go! Here is a sneak preview so long:
  3. Show us the Colnago MTB also, please
  4. Hello!
  5. Wow HeyYou, really loving that unique frame! Any chance of maybe getting a close up of how the brake mounts to the fork? It looks mighty interesting. Also, I'm a really BIG fan of those brake levers! (Do you perhaps have another set for me? )
  6. Okay, so, the frame has finally been stripped and I found an ITA threaded BB hiding between the cranks. Had a good look at the frame in the sun and couldn't find any markings whatsoever, besides the Cinelli logos on the lugs. The frame was fitted with a C-Record headset (drilled cups) and a 27mm C-Record seatpost (I think). So maaaaaaybe high end?? 1. Does ITA BB mean ITA frame? and, 2. How common were DIY frame builds back in the day?
  7. If cheaper tubbies are an option: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/continental-giro-tubular-road-bike-tyre/rp-prod31585 (Looks like 36.48GBP, including shipping, for a set)
  8. If this is indeed a Diamant frame, then I've already managed to source a Diamant Columbus chrome fork for it, and in VGC too! Very big thank you to everyone who contributed! Hopefully we can get to some more cement details once I have stripped the frame.
  9. Hi all, I need some help ID'ing a frame! I picked this up over the weekend as I needed some parts off of it. I haven't really gotten down to stripping and cleaning yet, but from what I can tell, it's had a respray. Some more details: Cinelli BB shell, Campagnolo rear dropouts, 3 cable guides on top tube, no bridge between chain stays (indicating a high end frame?) The BB seems to have a serial number that's rather difficult to read due to the respray. I have a plan to get it on paper which I will most probably attempt tomorrow. The fork is from a Daccordi (Silva d/o's) but I haven't been able to find any leads to it being an original or its use in conjunction with the frame. Here are some (bad) pics:
  10. Thanks to Loose Cog and the guys down at Hunter Cycling, I managed to get my hands on this awesome early 80's DA AX groupset. If you have any of the pieces missing from what I have in the pictures below, (even if it's 600 AX) please let me know! (I have the hubs which aren't pictured). A braze-on FD and DT shifters are top on the wanted list! Helmet and skinsuit optional.
  11. Teaser of what's to come
  12. I'm itching to work on my Montello now too!

  14. Latest addition to the stable! Currently has a Lejeune 650 fork. Looking for a 650 Battaglin fork if anyone has one lying about, otherwise I'll drill the current one and have it chromed. Also looking for a tricolour Shimano 600 groupset with DT shifters and a 650 front wheel. Please PM me if you do
  15. Thanks for this webpage Loose Cog!! The frame is identical to mine, so until someone throws a spanner into the works, it's a mid 80's Specialissima SL. Had a look at some later model Specialissimas sold on Steel-Vintage and it seems that the later models moved away from the capped seat stays.
  16. Hi guys. I picked this Bianchi up and need some help identifying the model (if at all possible) so that the restoration process can begin! I've taken pics of all the details on the lugs and the dropouts are Campagnolo. The entire frame has been resprayed white and the bike is Shimano 600 tricolour equipped which appears to be original. Wheelset is a set of 600 hubs laced to Wolber TX Profil rims. My guess would be late 80's Columbus SL?

Got my little brother this for his birthday, (obviously I didn't qualify, I'm over 14, check the box). Very interesting build but watching him do it had me squirming inside. I had to tie myself up and tape my mouth shut to prevent myself from taking over

Nanoblocks are cool, super fiddly though, because the pieces really are tiny! My Girlfriend picked up 5 characters in China at the beginning of the year for the equivalent of R80. Saw the prices locally in Toy Kingdom a few months back and had this sudden cold feeling come over me...
  19. I say yellow!
  20. I can tell you that I'd want it if you don't? Looks like a 90's Superissimo if I am not mistaken.
  21. You're right, it is cheap. The big deal, is that I actually want to receive the decals I paid for. I have very little faith in the local PO when it comes to receiving goods internationally. And even though Greg is kind enough to post another set or refund you if you don't receive it, I'd imagine that you'd still be left needing those damn decals (if you choose for him to refund you)! Ask Kamaalo, he's still waiting for decals he bought ages ago Oh yes, I'm also impatient and a little OCD, so it helps me sleep
  22. Hi Olffie, I'll be placing order at the end of this week. Perhaps a bit later as family will be there the week beginning the 19th of OCT.
  23. Anyone interested in building up their own steel frame? I have a set of lugs. Fork dropouts are Campy, rear dropouts are for track.
  24. I've gotten my hands on an 80's Concorde branded Selle San Marco Laser saddle. If anyone wants this for their Concorde, I'll be happy to sell, and although it does need some TLC, it's definitely salvageable. Otherwise, I think I'm going to have it recovered in perforated black / white leather!
  25. Hi guys, if anyone is interested in getting decals from Cyclomondo, please drop me a PM. I'm going to send an order through by next week for family to bring to CPT when they return from holiday. Here's the link: http://cyclomondo.net/
