  1. The food choices during the 2014 Sani2c was very good if you were on LCHF. It was a concern but I was pleasantly surprised. All you needed and more. Obviously the fatty biltong and nuts you have to bring yourself. The problem with the joberg2c - I'll eat 9 days worth of biltong in 3 days!
  2. There is no way that one can describe the feeling to cycle for hours on end at 85% of HR Max on nothing but water if you are fat adapted. Freedom maybe? No bonking at all, the added benefit is you can rest a bit as your cycling buddy slows down to eat another energy bar.....
  3. I could copy and paste the OP's post as my experience riding the Sani2C on a Banting diet. Good to know you can do it for much longer in a much tougher race.
  4. I'm as disappointed as one could be. But the insane criticism spouted by some is unreal. Will you take personal responsibility if the decision was up to you? Bet not. It speaks of immaturity and selfishness. I've done the Hot one, the Windy one, a few Detours, now I'll do the Short one. My only question, are there any easily accessible pubs between the University and the Blue Route.....
  5. All these attacks on Joël. Jealousy makes you nasty. Besides I looove Joël. He rides with bar-ends.....
