  1. I have the same model etc. Low probability, but I can scratch around on backups that I made of old PCs that I used. Can you give urls where the firmware is mentioned and described etc., just to see if there is criteria that I can use to filter the search and save time.
  2. He might had the same experience than me: I waited until 15 September to get a confirmation if Canyon could ( or not) provide me with a replacement fork - that I could only request/ask via the crash replacement online form on 18 August. That is around 21 days for a bike that I bought less than 2 years ago. Only then you actually know it is available - and confirm the actual order, wait a day to get a payment url and then wait for the (normal) delivery duration and custom delays for import tax. In between those dates I sent multiple emails and made direct calls to an extremely helpful & friendly lady that did the absolute best to help me (10 out of 10), but who don't even got given authority to check stock levels on parts - so you just sit, without a bike - and dont know for 3 weeks should you buy a different frame or will be able to source a fork. Yes, these weird and wonderful parts will be tricky to get for all brands, but the current replacement order process at Canyon is not working/broken... well for me at least. Canyon would do well by improving how the none-Van der Poel riders get repairs done and publish a number of articles on why it take so long. Maybe there is valid reasons, but a simply "yes/no we have stock" can help a lot with the decisions I need to make to get riding as quick as possible. Im seriously impressed with my current bike and the fold down of the handlebars in this article for boxing the bike is something that would be really handy. But I need some time first to get over the bitterness Already feel good just to vent here, sorry guys
  3. Friday lunchtime is water change day. Took some pics
  4. Got my first aquarium at 10. Rarely been without one since. Started with tropical, then moved into koi that warped into goldfish, which I even farmed commercially for one season with a friend. Yes we did made our investment back - before normal life and the changes got in the way. Started again with goldfish here in KL with a 450 glass fiber pond on the balcony, but the availability of colour variants of tropical fish and dirt cheap prices won me over to where I started: The outside pond is full of the best guppy blood-lines that I can find - then all thrown together with obvious mixed results Currently I have Albino full reds, Wild full red , Yellow Tuxedo, Harlequin Koi and Full Black Moscow stock. Inside I have a 5 foot tank with a typical mixed tropical aquarium that holds Angles, Swordtails, Neon Tetras etc. Something to get used to here: No tank heaters required - all year round. In fact I really struggled to provide enough shade to keep the outside tank cool enough for goldfish. Even brought them inside to the living room for a week during a really hot week. The genetic material / color lines available these days for all the life-bearers and bettas for example is absolutely mind-blowing. Malaysia have big wild/native gourami, arowana and betta populations as well as a healthy ornamental aquaculture production industry - the heat and water available all year round helps... Also a secretive underground betting on betta fighting culture I'm told. Some examples of what is available here (and probably in SA): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5HX-RFbGZQJSxq3nARdTag/videos https://www.facebook.com/guppyfishmalaysia/ http://www.fancyguppy.net/
  5. Sweat prevention, why stop at the motor
  6. For the record, this worked. Any other (OLD) Tacx TTS4 users: Back up your license file and make a note of your computer name today.
  7. Impressive Top-Dek tan lines
  8. This x10... - I had seen people being turned away (not allowed to get on flight in Istanbul) because they would be 2 hours outside (on arrival) of the 72 hours period since a Covid test certificate. Imagine keeping your job / contract if that happen...
  9. Now you bring nostalgia - visions of old Poepies running around and play with his other dog buddies on that field.
  10. Jig, it is going to be a busy couple of months
  11. To day #2 (of 14) of an enforced hotel room quarantine cell.
  12. Did you get it sorted Miex? I arrived back in KL and have 13 more days left in a quarantine hotel room - can help you when I'm released.
  13. We stopped for a late breakfast, then noticed this bike park next door having an opening/launch day under new ownership. Loads of kids having a good time and there seems to be a permit available for a 30km MTB trail/ route into the Bottelierskop area. Sell good coffee as well. * just of the offramp from the N2 direction Klein Brak (town)
  14. A honest question without an agenda: Does someone know any 2 cyclists that rode together or in a cycling group where a virus cluster could be identified afterwards / or where there is a suspicion that it is where they got the virus? No way I will ride in a group of friends currently, but I just realised that I dont know of any - whereas I would have expected to hear more rumours about such suspicions by now?
  15. It was a perfect day. And a happy day.
  16. To the Pannekoek Tannie
  17. The Zim Air Boeing that would have taken us home on Sunday is currently stuck in Bangkok after it had to turn back with only one working engine: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/um462#24d2ca80 I had to change work leave and connecting flight to Jhb 3 times (just today) - and it is going on for 1.5+ weeks now. It feel like the wild west - we jumped between so many flight options, cancellations, permits. I'm on 3 WhatsApp groups (getting in Malaysia, Out of SA to Asia etc), and one cant make up the scenarios that play out with some people. That said - there are amazing people that have the ability to flourish in this environment and arrange flights in this dynamic time with 100's of people - not by online booking, but with WhatApp, Excel and phone calls. Hope to be home soon.
  18. Out for a... coffee unfortunately
  19. I packed the road bike, so it is easier for me (but frustrating with all the dirt road options here that I loose out on) I would definitely prefer that someone is mask when I pass him or her on a single track. That said - if two people end up on a trail in close proximity with each other, then both dont follow WHO's advice to keep distance when exercising - if they are masked or not. - But masked is better when that happen.
  20. Personally I'm feel strongly that I would rather not exercise than to cycle in close proximity to others i.e. distance away from other people, which is what the url communicate as well. One can have a massive discussion about what is your close proximity vs my close proximity, but how long is a piece of string... (My string is very long in this case...) I do the mask thing in suburbs, and try my best to do that while passing people along a route. (Not a lot of them here though) Edit: Bottom line - to much trust is placed on masks.

  22. Those questions need to have a * - The guidelines were made under pressure. Officials simply had to come up with a number on how many people at a single moment in a shop, how many meters apart while buying coffee etc. (This is the same officials that made everyone exercise in 3 hours instead of 12 hours) The guidelines help, is good, well intended and thinking in the right direction, but very little science went into the calculations, exact values etc. You will need to add common sense to that - and are very much in control of your own risk exposure in my opinion.
  23. I had to Google those words [emoji4]
  24. ... to show me that there is a climb or two between George and Wilderness...[emoji33] ... and to showcase the winter fynbos that start to appear.
  25. There is no mask available that will make me comfortable to ride in that amount of people with said mask.
