  1. I might finish earlier on Friday, prob round 2pm. See you up there. One time, didn't realize you were Jimmy Hardtail, makes sense now.
  2. I'm good for Sunday. Even to the Stormers are out, I am keen to watch the Final which is at 12, slap bang right in the middle. Let me know either way.
  3. I am dead keen to be involved. Such awesome news. Good work getting it by the Parks. As the other guys have stated, its where about's, is it a section or a whole new trail from start to finish? Does this mean we will have 2 trails or are they going to close and rehabilitate the other one. Let us know dates
  4. It pour the night before which obviously made the track muddy. Quite a few riders didn't pitch on the day, as expected it cleared at 11am, but still muddy. The Facebook page WC Mongoose DH Series has some photos. I have also put some practice photos on Pinkbike. Looking for some others from other people too. Good fun was had by all, the results will be up on the FB page aswell.
  5. I'm keen for the build day and the changed date suites me perfectly. I am also racing this weekend, if the rain isn't pelting down like this and the race isn't called off. The answer your question Capricorn I like to do the downhill sport. I ride a green mamba (VP Free).
  6. Directions can be found on Facebook under the group WC Mongoose DH Series 2011 Co-ordinates are 33°58'8.14"S 18°51'55.05"E
  7. I'm definitely in for the weekend. Dead keen. My mate is also going to ride, he gonna do it hard tail style
  8. If its the same track as last time, its quite short, not too many obstacles. One small drop, one mean rock garden, a few jumps. Nice track to play on
  9. Its back on guys, see below from Chris Ok. The Eden race is Back on. Please tell as many riders as possible we need 60 riders to break even at R320 an entry. I am looking for two drivers for both Sat & Sun who can help out with driving the shuttle trucks this will help save costs as I normally pay people to do this. Thanks Cost higher than normal, but if we want races we must be prepared to pay. You can look at my other post regarding a way forward for DH races. 10. Need this to be seen to hit home, bumping myself
  11. I really think we need to form some type of fund, supported by the riders. I have mentioned it to some people and they seem keen. We need some form of interest bearing account whereby we can donate either a once off fee or a recurring debit order, it doesn't have to be much, like R50-R100 a month, so that we have a kitty to help support our races. In the period where there are no races the account can accumulate funds. Think about it, example: R100 a month from one person = R1200 a year, 20 people commit to it = R24000 a year. This money can go towards event costs, if no one is prepared to help the "Downhill" Community we need to help ourselves. I think a lot of people leave the sport because of lack of competition. We all know that land access is an issue but funding is also a big problem. With regards to land access I think we need to start approaching Private Land owners for the use of there facilities, which will come at a cost. Maybe for a committee of sorts to handle these issues. I do realize that not everyone has that much money lying around but as I stated we need to start helping ourselves. Sorry, I know I have put two or three suggestions together but I could write a whole page on this. What do people think? Maybe there is something in the pipeline and I just don't know about it.
  12. I'm not so sure, but I do know a crew is going up this weekend to work on the track. Just don't know which one. Will try and find out
  13. In recent light of the complications of hosting the race at Eden, I suggest the following: I have posted this already and some of you may have seen it but I really think this needs to be hi lighted. Crashes

He obviously doesn't like other people using the road.
  16. I sent you a PM
  17. Weren't you allowed to get someone to drive up and fetch you? I didn't bother calling the ambulance they take too long, both times I got someone to drive up to fetch me. You can get the key from the house near the Arboritum. Unless they weren't there then I can under stand the long wait. Hope you don't have to have an op and you recover quickly.
  18. Hey guys don't mean to sound like a joy kill, but have you got permission to get into the forest with a vehicle. I know it is quite tough to get permission to get in, let alone do track maintenance. The 'keepers' are quite strict. If you have that would be awesome, hopefully I can get off to come pitch in.
  19. Nigel, write to Supersport to complain about the commentators, they were absolutely S%&T, didn't have a clue.
  20. Will the track be open to the public after the event. I'm recovering from an injury and wont be able to make it up. And I am also based in Cape Town so a bit pointless coming up. Have you got more pictures of the rest of the track?

    Crash at Tokai

Best of wishes to him, its not nice crashing at the best of times but to have a spine involved is even worse. To Mark, get well soon buddy and try and keep the spirits high during this tough time Nick
  22. I checked on there website that Action Cycles will not be hosting it any more, don't know how true this is.
  23. Pottie did not receive his Visa in time for him to make it over, which is a huge pity as I feel he would have killed it.
