  1. aaa looks like they got sued https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/consumer-live/2019-09-23-hope-for-alleged-victims-as-class-action-launched-against-online-loan-company/ That would explain why there adverts stop showing. pity it was incredibly staffing draining there Google Adword Accounts
  2. Well at the end they blacklisted me with TransUnion which is a credit bureau of some sort. I took the opportunity to learn what this implies. There are multiple levels of "Blacklisting" and only the ones where you are found guilty by a court of law should concern you. And in that case the blacklisting will be the least of your worries. I filed a dispute with TU and send them the required documents( Affidavit, ID and dispute forum). My argument was that I never signed a debit order. TU gave them a grace period to provide the required documents. Obviously they could not nor too my knowledge did they respond and the entry on my credit records where removed. I never paid.
  3. I stupidly typed it in on the application forum. I retrospect I should have scrolled down to the t&C and searched the 10-page document to find the section about costing. That is how their role. They know people don't do that
  4. sure. They will if it was just me from one PC. Not if I use all 7 PC i can team view into and use 3 different browsers once every 3 -5 days. That is why I encourage everyone to do it when they get time. R30x 5 clicks x 10 people = R1500 wasted. do that 3 times a month and it counts up fast. Most people have a phone that can browse and a PC. So the more people that does this the more it will cut into their Adwords budget.
  5. My story is the same as most of the victims from Lifestyle Legal: Last year December I went online to compare loans. Their google advert lead me to believe they will provide quotes(Same as Hippo.co.za). So I clicked on the advert and went to their site. I Applied online with no cost indicated on the page. I did not read the T&C, Big Mistake!!! I got an email with an application forum which was too much hassle to complete so I did not. A few months later I noticed they were deducting money from my bank account. I contacted them and realised what was going on. I did not sign any debit order but yet they got enough information to request a debit order. I went to the bank and reversed the last few months. Later I started getting email letters of demands. They threatened to blacklist me. Well, Lifestyle Legal Go to hell! I would rather be blacklisted than pay you. So now every time they contact me I go on google and search for their adverts. My google Adwords keyword planner shows that their adverts will cost on average R30, between R10-R100 for each click. I use the keywords "Loans Africa, Loans bad, Loans blacklist" Join me and click on their adverts as well. Make sure you click on the green flag result. There is a facebook group against Lifestyle Group (Damien Malander) Join “Action A gainst Loan Match - Loan Connector - Lifestyle Legal” here is an incomplete list of all the sites that is owned by Lifestyle Legal www.loanfindersa.co.za www.loanspottersa.co.za www.loanlocatorsa.co.za www.loanmatchsa.co.za www.loanscoutsa.co.za www.loanhuntersa.co.za www.ltracersa.co.za www.loanpickersa.co.za www.loanchoice.co.za www.LoanQuest.co.za www.LoanConnector.co.za www.LoanTracer.co.za www.LoanHub.co.za www.ldsa.co.za
  6. My apology for blowing my own horn but beating the likes of Specialized, Lezyne and Led Lenser is kind of a big deal for me. You can imagine how proud I was when I read that Oli Munnik Technical Editor from Bicycling Magazine chose Extreme Lights’ XP3 Performance Cycle Light as the editors choice. In there Cycling Light Review in the July/August Issue. http://www.extremelights.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Bicycling-article.jpg
  7. One has to start with a dream and then dumb it down to what is possible in reality. I am only at the starting phase and this might end with me just buying a frame from litespeed, Moots or Lynskey. But to give you an idea I might have access to "growing" the parts that I can't forged or machine. You will find this interesting to read and this. I don't foresee that it will needed though. TI can be forged in to any shape but that requires immersing it in the correct atmosphere at the right temperature and applying the correct forces. Not that easy to do with out very specialized equipment. Something that most custom builders do not have access too. Why TI? light weight, super strength and fatigue life, a magical ride.... The only draw back is the specific stiffnesses that is low. In other words it is very very springy. Not ideal for a Full sus. But I think a frame that takes this in to consideration could be remarkable.
  8. And if you where wondering. It is designed for 650B wheels. I am not a 29" fan and 26" parts are getting harder to get
  9. For some bazaar reason I got bitten by a bug to design and build my own bike. I have access to some impressive engineering tools and do some graphic design as a hobby. So getting to the conceptual point is pretty easy. It is the detailed design that is presenting a problem. Hence this post. Yes and I will be making it from Titanium, just because I can. That is if I get the stiffness at the right places. At this point I am fairly sure I will be able to limit the tail whip issues that is common with a springy material such as titanium. Here is a conceptual design. You might recognize the basic layout. I admit I am not redesigning the wheel here. After some photoshoping this is what I hope to end with This is the important part. The Geometry is based on my body size. That is the benefit of designing the bike frame. :-D BUT now I have hit a void of information. I am struggling to get the technical detail of key interfaces The head tube size and taper details. The BB thread and details The Seat post stem tolerances The rear de-trailer mounting and QR details and disk brakes mounting position. I am in two minds at this stage about running 11x1 or 10x2. If I do run 10x2 I need the details for mounting the derailer. Pivit bearing details. That and amongst other things. I am hoping someone can direct me to an design guide with technical details about common part. I started contacting the manufacturers of the parts I am intended on using but it is difficult to get to someone that can provide the right information. It also does not help sitting in Africa. They seem to not believe me that I am going to build this. And if I don't get this info they are most likely right. The big issue with Ti is that you can't easily change things after it has been made. So I need to get everything right the first time.
  10. When buying a reputable brand you should be ok in believing there ratings. 350 lumen is a lot of lumen and should be more than adequate road and commuting. The big problem with integrated lights are there runtime vs light. Separate battery packs tend to have higher capacity due the the additional weight. The weight of an integrated lights is critical for its stability on the handle bars. At this stage using them for MTB could be a hassle but if you are willing to fork out the money there are some models that would works.
