  1. Just to let Hubbers know, I recently bought Swifty's XTR rotors which I presume were making way for the Avids. He conducted himself in an exemplary manner throughout the sale with the goods arriving as promised and exactly as described. This tells me he is an honourable guy.
  2. 1. Cross existed long before Mtb as a means for road racers to stay busy during their wet northern winters, hence the use of road bike styled machines rather than mtb. 2. Mtb's just wouldn't keep up with the speed achievable by cross bikes and the terrain doesn't warrant full blown mtb which are also heavier for the constant shouldering. Watching the pros mount and dismount so fluidly puts a smile on my face similar to that which ballet and other dance does for my wife!
  3. Did someone call? Don't forget CrossVegas as a highlight on the annual calender! In Europe, cross goes with beer, especially in Belguim,..oh and lots of mud. Disc brakes have just been approved for use so expect lots of new gear.
  4. Buzzer sounds - "Yes Cyclocross?" "Sir, I feel compelled to offer a speedy reply for some reason". Cyclocross frames will do the trick allowing heavily treaded wider tyres(than road)with even some extra clearance for mud. Were a few recently in frame only or fully built versions on the hub which a search should reveal if still around.
  5. Nice work Gents, cheers!
  6. Has anyone tried a rear wheel with quick release (rather than axel + bolts) in a frame w/horizontal dropouts? e.g track or ss. Will it hold?
