  1. Shimano does sell replacement plates so ask...
  2. If you get no.3 right all will be answered. Also as a wheel guru you should know that building a disc wheel with anything less than 3x on both sides is not reccomended...
  3. Excellent so the shop down the road can benifit... Its really big of you to make the choice without phoning Le Peloton and speaking to the people in charge of the company about your issues - insted you splash your k@k on a public forum so people feel sorry for you...
  4. I saw Wessel at the finish looking very stressed about the people going the wrong way, I don't know about the 30km but the 51-54km (depends on who you talk to) was fantastic, I agree maybe the marking could've been a bit better in some places but in all a well put on event.
  5. Corima also do a tubeless carbon wheel for those tyres... very pretty be! Shimano have also just released an Ultegra level wheel...
  6. CONTI all the way 2.4 Mountain king in front, 2.2 Mountain king tailing out back...Bullet proof!
  7. OOOIIEE that looks spanktastic! mind you I'll make do with just a G4 in red for now...
  8. Go check out this, Just got one for my son... http://www.specializedsa.co.za/contentbike.php?range=238&bike=141
  9. Go Shimano as all their brakes use the same pad, they are easy to set up and any one (should) stocks the pads.
  10. 68mm shell - two on drive side one on non drive side 73mm shell - one on drive side
  11. Just go to Dischem and buy two large syringes, then a pet shop and get fish tank air hose that fits on the syringes, take the cap off the lever and push the fluid thru from the caliper to thelever at the same time sucking the excess fluid out of the resivoir with the other syringe. There is no alternative to Shimano mineral oil, anything else will damage the rubber seals in the lever and caliper, that is why its made by Shimano - specifically to work with their product. Even the Magura mineral oil is different and it too will damage the system.
  12. I had the XTR set up, outers and inners and after Sani2c which was not all that muddy, I had to replace the cable- it was new in Jan.
  13. Look I know, as I have worked on teams in the past few years, that in the local racing scene the mechanic always gets forgotten about and never gets to the front of the queue when it comes to handing out the paycheques. As with any team the riders always get paid correctly and first and the mechanic is an after thought. Thats why there are so few mechanics out there that are prepared to do this job.
  14. yes you can do it, However it can add more friction to the system and upset the shifting. I have it on my bike and wish I didn't...
