Got ratched Specialized pro road. Ratched not broken yet but did buy a spare just incase it broke and I do not want to wait ages for replacement.

There was many motobikes on the route yes, personally I would not tried the helmet thing you tried, I don't wanna risk injury/damage to myself others and my/others bike. Very brave or very stupid.

I stay as far left as possible and aviod roads with no emergency lanes. So I see myself as a cyclist who behave. Sheep and cattle is the main thing to watch out for on the road here in the states. When I go up to Golden Gate it's the baboons but they do not mind me and my bike as it is a ape machine after all.

Sorry to hear, so many units in one day....security had a finger in the pie I believe. Not much chance to get back your lost stuff. I hope they conect the stuff wrong and it will blow up in their face.

I've not paid once for a service at my LBS and my bike is in awsome condition (FOR NOW) The owner has done a BG course by Specialized and even done my setup for free. Got my bar tape for free, even got my carbon bottle cages for free. Small client base here in the states I suppose they make sure you come back. FYI the owner of the LBS here is not family. Great service.

In my opinion the hub is there for like minded people, so no matter what they sell. The hub is there use it to your advantage.
