Greg knows about the scheduled session of signing autographs . For the sake of making things easy for everyone it was scheduled for a specific time period so that we dont have loads of people trying to run accross the cycling track . Also bear in mind that Greg is new to the track and needs to concentrate on his warm up etc and focus on the racing . There were no other motives behind scheduling a time slot other than safety issues and common sense .

Greg Minnaar will be riding the Cape Town Grand Prix on 16 Dec 2008 at the Velodrome from 10 am until 16h00 . He has agreed to sign autographs during the lunch break only from 13h00 to 14h00 . Come and get yours

Greg Minnar will be riding in the Cape Town Grand Prix Track event on Tuesday 16 Dec 2008 at the Bellville Velodrome . He will be riding a track bike . In the interval he is going to ride down the banking with his MTB .

Please dont get me wrong - i in no way support that cyclists get ripped off , but maybe I can shed some light on the issue . Pls bear in mind that our local bicycle industry is fairly smal compared to that of Europe & UK and USA . Having said this , the market size is far bigger - and hence higher demand by dealers , mean they get far better prices and can sell for far cheaper . Also , bear in mind that it is a SA culture thing , that we try and use a part for as long as possible . In Europe , expecially in Belgium , where I raced , guys will use a groupset for 1 season only and no more . They then buy a new one . Again the demand is constantly higher hence lower prices . On average , in SA , people tend to use a groupset for 2 to 4 years if the bike is not stolen or in an accident .

Yes . It was only a matter of time . We must move with technology . Now lets see if the road guys can do the same . Maybe we , the track guuys will get so organised that the roadies will sit up and take notice and ask why they dont get the same service .

Hi Hendrik Ja , I must admit , it did not work as planned , the qualifying to ride province champs . So this year , we did not implement it . We had a record number of entries - 90 for WP Track Champs . We have some great events planned for this coming year . Will keep you all posted .
