  1. Being in the same situation I can tell you that the Momsen op mentioned is around 12k and the silverback is 16k and with that silverback's components its like comparing a knife to a glock. If we were comparing the Sola 2 then I'd say go momsen but ultimately it depends on dunesand's budget and if it can stretch to a Sola 1.
  2. Living and commuting between the two cities I can tell you I am still more weary when in JHB. CT alarm reaction times are poor and from what I gather intruders are more likely armed with knives than firearms - especially in Newlands/Rondebosch...? Still unpleasant, friends that live right next door (border it) to the Rondebosch police station above the church got burgled 2 or 3 times last year! Also the contrast is quite stark, in JHB you see companies like Core, CSS, SWAT with guards carrying automatic weapons whereas down here it is helmets? Maybe time to launch something similar down here, but I doubt people would pay the R600 odd per month... Problem I see with a firearm is that when you need it you are probably unlikely to have it with you and then it is +1 for the tossers.
  3. To bump an old topic - instead of starting a new one. Anyone here a member at Sport Science in Newlands - comments, concerns...?
  4. So got a nice red letter in the post today. Seems my fee increase for 2012 is just over 20%? Thought inflation was still single digits, guess not with all the articles on food...

SMS from numbers like that are easy and anyone can get access. They usually originate from a bulk messaging provider, such as Clickatell etc... Some providers also allow you to mask the caller ID as a word etc... but some have checks in place to ensure that the user has claim to the words or numbers masked.
  6. Great, worked! Thanks mate... Bmx tube was buggered, that's why it didn't seat, but marc sorted it out chop chop
  7. Um thanks but no thanks, frustration levels hit new highs and I always end up getting stans all over myself and the local BP's forecourt.
  8. Hi Everyone, I currently have tubeless conversion, done by a friend, on my mtb - uses bmx tubes DIY style and not stans rim strips. I had to top-up and didn't remove the valve and fill it that way. Long story short, like last time I'm struggling to get the tire to seat properly so it can seal when inflated with a compressor, which shops in CT (southern suburbs) will do it for me as I'm gatvol? and at what cost?
  9. I reckon itll just be another R2000+ gone down the tubes, its a bit big to not notice huh! As far as cars go,,, ya tracking devices only seem good against amateurs and joy-riders, perhaps tracetec is better who knows.
  10. http://www.bicycling.co.za/video/make-your-own-tubeless worked for me R250 and about 400kms so far.... dont try the bombs, go to your local BP etc and use their compressor - getting it to sit is the hardest part

"These helicopters are located in Midrand, Gauteng (the only 24-hour HEMS service in South Africa)" - NETCARE so maybe those who pay, only pay for the no medical aid authorisation bit.... I never believe ads I see on TV
  15. Some of us think alike - datadot is a passive option, should be quite dificult to remove all the dots. A mate of mine had his bike nicked in Claremont/ Landsdowne, found it at a second hand dealer in town, maybe worth a look every know and then.

    Bike Rack QQ

Thanks for the reply, I bought it so long ago if it did I've lost it between house moves etc... Has anyone used this: Thule Bike Frame Adapter 981? [http://www.thule.co.za/Frames/] probably quite pricey knowing Thule here in SA?
  21. Seasons Greetings Everyone, I have one of those old geoff bike racks but having recently purchased a '10 Yukon with a skew frame I cannot use it as is as the bike doesn't sit well and extends past the side of the car. Is there a bar or some kind of attachment I could buy to attach to the frame to allow me to continue to use the rack???? Thanks
