  1. Hi Guys, As EmptyB mentioned, the route is mostly Jeep track and single track. Generally speaking the route is not very technical. There is only one serious climb on the 70 Km and none on the 35Km @AlPal the small section of mowed grass is a change that was made to the route to avoid the notorious muddy patches that the route dishes out, after the rains that we have had recently we didn't want to take any chances. One more change to the route is the exclusion of the water crossings that caused some bottle necks in the past. I am sure that last years winning time of 02:18:12 by Henry Uys will be beaten this year , so the race will certainly be living up to its name.... Hope to see you all there
  2. Hi Henryfeather, there will be day entries available on race day

  6. Hi Neverfit sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the route, we received a lot of compliments about the route and i must be honest with you that this is the first complaint we have received about it. We appreciate your comments and will certainly take them into consideration. With regards to the distance, the GPS distance was measured as 61km so i am not too sure if you may have missed a section but non the less, you are correct that the distance was originally advertised as 70km, there was a change to the route that was communicated and also mentioned at race briefing but this however does not excuse not meeting your expectations, The irony is that we cut the long boring train track section out of the route to keep it more exciting. That is the reason for shortening the distance. we appreciate feedback good or bad and will certainly try to improve on any shortcomings for the next race.

  11. I have been reading this thread with great interest and to be honest after 33 pages i still dont have a clear idea of what the best solution is, would somebody be able to summarize what the best solutions is? i guess there are so many things to consider, but i hope i have it all below ADSL Line Rental - Telkom 4 mb line 4mb Uncapped ADSL - ? mweb, Afrihost or Telkom now this is where i get a little more confused... once you have your line do you need a TV set top box such as Apple TV, Google TV ROKU etc to be able to stream Netflix on your TV? what is the total cost of a package like this? DSTV costs R800 per month circa, can you replace DSTV with an internet TV option and run all your mobile devices (Datawise) for the same price? If somebody can give a me a summary of what is needed and the costs involved it will be greatly appreciated.

  14. is that a Suunto D9 bottom row second from the left?
  15. There is no doubt more to Donald's departure than what we are hearing, I will put good money on it that the next bowling coach will have a darker complexion. I have no idea about Ntini's coaching skills but in the big scheme of things i think it may very well be him or Charl Langeveld that will be the next bowling coach. Donald was on a very good wicket (no pun intended) so for him to just walk away does not make sense! i guess we going to have to wait for the book to find out the real reason for him leaving.
  16. my money is on makhaya ntini
