QDK does not have the technique to open in test cricket, if they put him in the squad he should bat lower down... ease him into test cricket, the last thing you want is to expose him upfront then after a couple of failures bye bye QDK, this kid is something special but Test cricket is a total different ball game, if your technique has a short coming it will be exposed!

i guess it will come down to what the individual is willing to pay! if you take the general athlete at IM is a working class citizen i for one feel like you are being screwed on everything race related, from the day you enter to the plane ticket, then the charge for getting your bike there, then the accommodation, then the race memorabilia etc etc i am just not sure if Joe Soap is going to spend R1500 extra to rent a set of wheels. i love the idea of having that option but just not sure about the affordability of the average athlete

IMO its a great idea but 3k mmmmm bit on the high side i think i think a lot of triathletes would love to choose a set of wheels on race day! i know i have got to a race venue and thought damn i should have brought the deep sections or the wind picks up and your deep sections become sails it would be great to be able to swop them out

Hi Guys thanks for all the positive feedback we really appreciate it. Alot of work goe into putting together an event like this and it makes it all worth while when we see comments like this. All i can say about the guys that finished this event is WOW guys you deserve to show of that finishers trophy! it was a brutal day!! i hope you all are wearing your armbands with pride today! We always strive to improve on events so any critisism is also appreciated because without this we dont know where to improve, one "MAJOR" thing that was overlooked was the bikewash sorry guys!! i did see that some guys used their initiative and cleaned their bikes in the dam but i do promise that we will have one next time! hope to see you all at next years event! one more thing... what did you think about the goodie bags and jackets?

i saw some cannondale branded side entry cages at my LBS sure any shop should be able to get some for you

the bad part of organising events is you don get to do as many as you would like! so i have a large Orca wetsuit you can use if it will fit, let me know and i will bring it along for you

Spartan226 was the winner of the competition however he is recovering from an injury so we have carried his entry over for next years race! a call on water temp will be made 1 hour before the start of the race, but with it being a early start the chances are good for a wetsuit swim there are some seriously good prizes guys so it will be really worth your while to stick around for prize giving and there will be some lucky draws where we will be giving away a couple of wetsuits, product hampers, GPS watches and many more! This is going to me one seriously KICKASS day

there are a couple of other ultra road events Prestige ultra - oldest ultra distance tri in the country Buffelspoort Ultra Trirock - durban

although we cant promise that there won't be mud on race day we will have dedicated wash down areas on the course to clean your bike on race day! Glad you enjoyed the route!

i have RR evo tires on my bike and the Mrs has RR snakeskins on hers, she has punctured three times in the last two weeks, i have about 2000km on mine and haven't had one puncture on mine??? may just be luck of the draw i guess!

Thanks for the info Helpmytrap, i am on <50g CHO, i would like to try a bowl of oats in the morning and then take some cytogen on the bike with some racefuel and i will be happy, i have read that rolled oats is better than normal oats but i will have to investigate the benefits of using different types and maybe add butter to increase the fat level, one thing that i have picked up is alot of you are referring to this as being a journey so i am going to see it as just that and maybe try different routes till i find the right one. to be totally honest, the best senario for me would be to live LCHF, ride with carbs, have a boerie roll and a couple of beers after the race and then revert back to LCHF but ja i guess we cant have the best of both worlds
