  1. I also enjoyed the race...the tar sections were not a big issue to me! Good organizing and route directing/marking....at least we did not end up going the "wrong" way around like the Down&Dirty last week The downhill sections on the other side of the koppie/mountain was AWSOME....I made up alot of places there and ended up doing a huge "stoppie" (to the disbelief of a few riders ) right at the bottom where everyone dismounted...it was all about having fun!

  3. jeeeezzzz...what's with most peeps regarding LA??? I am pretty new to MTB and not involved with roadies (yet )...but it seems that most hate the poor guy! what's up with that??? could someone please explain this to me!? Have they busted him for doping in previous events or what? According to me , LA is the best cyclist out there! My grandpa passed away 2008 due to throat and lung cancer....and let me tell you....it was not a pretty sight...and for LA to go through that kinda hell and get back and winning TDF's....AWSOME!
  4. You are supposed to use any equipment for their intended purpose!!!
  5. I use Prepsol on EVERYTHING......MTB,KTM....all gear/kit without any problem! It's not "eating" rubber, fading plastics or mess up my riding gear...been at it for over 2 years...and I dont EVER dilute it!
  6. All in all it was a great event! as for the bottlenecks: IMHO....I think its not the organizers slip-up....but rather the MTBikers themselves! It's a MTB event for crying out loud...if you cant handle the rough stuff start at the back! It was shocking to see how many peeps cant ride/handle technical terrain ... I must admit that the marking at one or two sections could have been better for the not so experienced rider....but coming from an Off-Road Racing background....the route marking made 100% sense to me...normally one have a certain amount of "navigation" skills!!! Maybe there should have been more marshalls at certain "forks/crossroads"!?!? I know I've mentioned this already...BUT I still feel annoyed with MTBikers in the mid to front pack that stops for every little crossing/log or any other obstacle.....COME ON...momentum is key for conquering most obstacles! Phew...I feel better now Geoff2009-06-23 00:01:59
