  1. Hi Guys, newbie to MTB, which trail would you guys recommend in Modders like a 25k route perhaps?
  2. If your Goal is to just cross the finish line: Amashova has roughly 1296 m of climbing and 1866 m of descending, So its not exactly a downhill race. Two uphills you should be weary of , Climb up to Thornville and Inchanga. Take it very very slow and easy up all hills. Do not be tempted to go up quick especially on fresh legs on the first few hills. Stay in the shade up Inchanga. Get low on your bike down the hills and enjoy the speed. Stay safe. Bum pain is inevitable, make a point of every now and then riding off the saddle. Use energy bars, take a bite of it every twenty minutes and hydrate as needed. Powerade, Energade works. No rule to how often, but be consistent from the go. Enjoy
  3. Clip On Tri Bars Does it make a difference What do I need to know when buying one?
  4. Hi Probably the best review on the device: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/tomtom-spark-review.html Personally bought one and it works perfectly. Does everything it says it can do.
  5. If I'm not mistaken, That level is calculated based on the online fitness assessment you do. I don't think it considers number of activity points you accumulating. Retake the assessment
  6. Unfortunate that the 4 year old had to witness a potential threat to his/her life be killed so inhumanely!
  7. I'm here training my ass of for a standard distance while you guys talking about 11 hrs. (Supermen) Anyway, any tips/ advice on getting to do and complete an ironman, I plan on doing a Olympic on the 24th. Assuming I complete. What my next step. Training plans? Clubs? google? Youtube?
  8. Yes that is true. Tomtoms are not recognized if purchased and synced to mapmyfitness after the 18 of March.
  9. I have a question on this topic, Does carbon Only offer a lighter bike? or are there other advantages. Does 2kg make a big difference given a 20k price tag. Or should I loose 2kg instead.
  10. I have a Tungha 1.1 Bike carrier, Very much cheaper than any other strap on bike rack. Drove to DBN (From JHB) It was a very windy day and the carrier held. It doesn't scratch the vehicle. Only possibility is if the bike itself swings onto the car. I see many guys using pool noodles to avoid that. You can get the carrier at takealot or directly from Tungha. They are based in Sunninghil
  11. Any suggestions on open water swimming venues in and around Gauteng, Is Germiston lake safe to swim in? I've seen many negative comments about the lake online.
