  1. So they compatible? Tired of the Garmin straps and those silly gaskets failing when you replace the battery.
  2. Well gravel bikes were allowed if you did the half this year so why not allow it for the entire route. Perhaps 2022 was just a pilot run?
  3. Had 15 years of hassle free riding on my set. Even though technology has moved on that Record groupset is still the bomb
  4. For me it was a relatively easy decision. Was still riding 2x10 and I told myself that once the drivetrain was "moer toe", I would upgrade to GX AXS. About 8 rides in and absolutely loving it. I'm on Campy 11 spd on road bike. It's going to take a very long time to ride it "moer toe" and even then I would never afford their electronic groupsets 😞
  5. 100% agree. First time was just lekker checking out the vibe and soaking it up as you say. Next time will be more focused time, but still enjoy the vibe at CP's. WP's is a stop and go
  6. interesting you use the word brutal. I've been using that word when my other cycling buddies ask how is the event 🙂
  7. getting to the top of those rollers and then seeing the next one and then next one and so on was having me using expletives I cannot repeat here on this chat
  8. Can The TB still claim its the "Toughest single stage race in the world" ?
  9. Being a first timer, what generally would you put in your boxes. Thinking warm jacket and gloves for CP1. Leg warmers are these even necessary? Did Karoo Burn, Water points are well stocked with drinks and food so not putting any food stuff in my boxes
  10. OK. We did 15 hrs but had mechanical issues which I reckon conservatively made us lose 2 hrs at least.
  11. More about the training I have to still put in 🙂
  12. My first attempt at 36One. We did Karoo Burn as a warm up/training ride. Rather anxious as it is getting closer to the event.
  13. My most chilled Cycle Tour yet, Decided a while back this October Tour was going to be chilled affair. Hoped onto my coffee ride bike. Stopped in Scarborough for coffee and a cinnamon bun. That bun was awesome.. Watched a few groups past. Then later on Chappies my bud insisted (cos he missed the first stop) I stop again in Hout Bay for coffee. Happy to join as he was paying. That was the deal. Loved the vibe. Even if muted this year when you racing in your group you never get to experience the vibe and catch a bit of it up Suikerbossie. Well was Hout Bay "Main Road" rocking. Soaked it up this year. So slowest of my 25 Tours but certainly one of my favourites.
  14. I'm so going to follow this build. Please keep us updated regularly
  15. Bogus did my spray job and I could not be happier. Don't be in a hurry. If he takes on your work give the space and time to complete the job. You will not be sorry. Had my Look KG 381 frame done. Showed him 3 pics of the Kelme Costa Blanco team bike of early 2000's and ...... Well see for yourself. As happy as a pig in mud https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/186654-look-kg-381-makeover/
