Sram Force CX1 was a high light, reminded me of my *cough* customized Sram Rival 1x10 groupset I *cough* engineered a few years go for my Cross bike. You're welcome Sram Oh and the R599 bell and the Santa cruz Stigmata. Not so hot was the Kargo green side walled with red stripes Vee tyres....... oh and CWC not bringing any cassettes through. otherwise good times.....apart from the traffic, oh and them not packing a race number in my bag. shew.

thanks Hairy, the way I see it, the gears will simply get me back on my bike more, so its a "big picture" scenario, SS is great when you have the legs to match. so what ratio should I go for 11-23 right?

its going to be fun, something different and hopefully there will people cheering you the entire way seeing that it's out and back. I for one am totally off road riding right now, so a morning of NO cars is my idea of having a good bike ride.

my best ride was one of the detours, how I always wished I had those legs when it was over chappies and finished at maiden's cove......

hijack: go drool over a yeti at thegearchange instead. edit: will add something meaningful to the debate. it is impressive that the sport has grown to the extent that shops like this can operate, clearly with big budgets, professional shop fitters etc, when I stareted mountain bicycling g my LBS was a little semi detached house in salt river painted turquoise....before the area became trendy. so yes this place looks impressive, perhaps its the right environment for a 40something director to drop R80 to R120+ K on a carbon full suss 29er that he just has to have in order to ride off road. suppose there'e a reason why they sell Aston Martins at the waterfront and Kia's in Paarden Eiland. want to shoot the breeze with the mechanic pull into your LBS, want to get "wow'ed" by a lot of trademarked jargon and drop R100k, you know where to go
