Stick with the Shimano brakes, they use mineral oil(not car brake fluid), pads are cheaper, spares more freely available, easier to set-up, much less drama than "fruit juice".

Bar end caps are free. Use it, don't use it...

Is the top of the steerer tube 5-10mm below stem height like it should be? Also, is the bearings fitted the correct way up & down?

I looked the all over Cape Town for 1 a few months ago, eventually found new ones at Crown Cycles for a third of the price of other shops, that had to order(1-2 weeks waiting time). You also get 2 sizes, you need the smaller 1 for the 6600 cranks. It's just a pre-load cap, if you can't find 1 & need to fit cranks asap, use the 1 in the pic to do the job. Once crank bolts have been tightened remove it again & replace it with a plastic MTB bar-end cap for the meantime, nobody will know. Dealer012009-11-24 03:10:37
