Im in need of 29 x2.40 front and rear for my trek tope fuel EX9.8. I ride mostly cross country tho. Currently running Bontregger team, but I'm finding these tyre harder to peddle and feel slower. On my Scott I have Maxxis Ardent Race which really run well. Im just wondering if its an actual fact and not just my head playing games with me, but the MAxxis feel like they roll much easier. Anyone able to shed light on this? Is it really possible for a tyre to make such a big difference.

I can honestly say that was a very enjoyable ride, both my wife and I enjoyed it very much. One oversight on our part, we rode on Easter Friday, so the Thirsty Walrus and High Side were closed for the public holiday. We did however find "the cat and the cow" just around the corder, and they gladly made us a strong coffee. The ride back had some tough clips, but wasn't anything too hectic. All in all, a brilliant few hours out on the bike. Thanks To Paul!

Soooo, prey do tell... how was the riding? We heading there in 2 weeks time and id like some feedback on routes. My wife and I are both fairly fit, so id be keen to hear all about it.
