  1. Two weeks to go ,training has been good ,picked up a small groin injury so took of the running the last few days seems to be ok now ,had a solid 950 km total ,and 54 hours of training in December. so lets hope all goes well on the day its my third El and so hoping to brake the 6 hours barrier 2017 7:10 and 2018 6:39 , but as we all know 39 min is a shi"""""" load to take of .especially in east London. can only hope to be strong on the day. all the normal little things been sorted bike serviced, nutrition ,accommodation extra....... traveling down on the 24th must say quiet exited. all the best to all the hubbers participating save travels.
  2. good luck ladies and gents, fastest finger first when the date is announced for accommodation.
  3. And so we wait 2020 ...../......??????? PE.......???????
  4. rumor has it IMSA is considering Morocco,do not know how true this is but were theirs smoke ,theirs fire
  5. my two cents on E bikes please don,t shout keep left faster riders coming on the right.unless its from your own power coming up the hill ,i will make way in no time.
  6. Hey @ndy yes was supersized to see my spot rite at the end felt a bit strange to be rite at the exit of transition probably the closest il ever get to being a pro and then no 0001 did not rack and there i was rite in front ,was a long 700 mt run in my socks .
  7. Hi try the sportsman warehouse in atebury i now they stock orca and first assent for ladys two pies and full suits
  8. Race week and the drive down to Durban, same story for me, have not been in full training mode. as i am also fighting the dreaded snot nose as i think the hole of Johannesburg is. had a couple of good training sessions after IMSA and hope i can fall back on that. as for drafting it is what it is there will always be people drafting in the age grouper times slots i think the referees are more strict on the leading guys , but do agree with more motor bikes and less km to cover maybe there will be loads spending time in the penalty tents. i try and keep to my own race on the bike leg and do not care if people draft ,what drives me insane is the came kazie pilots that over take you on the left when theirs hardly room for a mouse. save travels to all the hubbers heading down to Durban enjoy and be save out there
  9. Race number #1504 Training back on track, had a good week so far ,two more weeks to go . and then my best week taper haha and the drive down to Durban
  10. Min dae now, will be traveling down to Durban next week this time last big push this weekend and then taper week , try to eat clean and hydrate and stay healthy Good luck to all athletes for next Sunday enjoy and be safe out there.
  11. if all goes well 35-37 min swim for me so will try go of in the middle of the second 30min batch. always find it to be duur mekaar anyway me swimming over people and people swimming over me i dont think people self seed in there proper times excitement gets the better of participants, and its go,go.go,go easy solution ironman should seed swimmers from previous race times and first timers start at the back
  12. Hi corinda coming from a so so swimmer not the most experienced in the ocean ,i recon if you have done a phew open-water swims you will be OK ,getting in and out the surf is challenging on a ruff day but once you are in its very similar to open water ,a wet suit makes live much easier and the salt water gives you bit more buoyancy, the rolling start also make it less intense and settles the nerves,ad 10 min to your pool time for 1.9km and fall in with that time slot at the start good luck enjoy your race
  13. morning all, what do you guys recon the swim is going to be like swimming in the ushaka pier area compared to snake park beach ,will it relay make a big difference if the see in on its head?
  14. you might have a point there, they might use us as Ginny pigs for the split transition ,before the pros return next year.
